If they're saying that this was a bad movie because of the visual effects than they'd also be saying that Moonraker was an absolute trash. Most of the James Bond Movies had something in outer space that can cause destruction. The invisible car was a bit silly but it's the 21st century so they have to up the gadgetry a bit. Storyline wasn't horrible too. I like how Bond was imprisoned in North Korea.

But them being in outerspace was if you think about it, a bit too out of this world. That wouldn't even be possible even today.

Die another day is just another film with effects to back up the plot. Sure it's a stupid idea to most fans but they should just stick to the book and don't bother other people.

The movies will always be different to the books. If you want an action oriented film, then go watch the Bourne Series.

Gadgets is what makes bond movies different from other spy fiction.

Yeah but they haven't taken the special effects a bit too far and the storyline isn't even that what you'd call "real life"

What makes a bond movie unique to all other spy fiction is the gadgetry and the villains with superpower. The spy who loved me wouldn't even be great if the villain didn't have that huge base and the space station in Moonraker ain't even possible back then.

IF the story is close to real life situations then they should be more conservative with effects.

I know, Die Another Day has many haters but I found it really not bad. Yes, the storyline and visual effects looked too unrealistic but this is "New Era" Bond movie which shows new technological progress. Pierce Brosnan was great though. Toby Stephens was great villain too. I love Halle Berry but she wasn't that good. Rosamund Pike was OK.

I adore Madonna's theme song - really unique and memorable!!! She should have had more screen time in this movie.
