I dont have a router, i have only a modem cause i live alone. But now i wanna ask somebody if he knows how to change the nat type and upnp available ? I logged in my modem provider settings to change these settings, but i dont see any things like upnp or nat NOT AT ALLL ?? Were the hell can i do this I really, can't play with anyone, maybe if i have some luck somebody can join me in GTA4 but other games especially NOT A CHANCE. I never ever played online with MW2, cause i cant connect to people.

If you have a wrt54g with your Ps3 and have trouble just get rid of it on ebay and get a wrt54gl. I wrestled with the wrt54g for months and it would never work properly. wrt54gl works right out of the box.

To put things simply, upnp autmatically configures your router so you don't have to do it manually. It can be bas sometimes because you don't have control over what it going on behind the scenes. But it's generally good if your not technically educated :)

you have nat type 3. You have to put your ps3 into dmz on the router to make it nat 2, or something

you have to enter into you wrt54g the PPPoe, Ps3's I.P., primary DNS and secondary DNS & your MAC address, also 54g's only go to 1492 MTU so back up the Ps3's MTU setting slightly from 1500.

if u dont have a router the only way to get online is by plugging the modem into the the ps3 with an ethernet cable...

this is retarted. First of all, most people who need upnp need it FOR a media server...so you CANT disable it. Second...most people having the problem have it even after bypassing the router or using a DMZ. your solution does not work I tried it myself!

it should work,i have a cat. 5 cable that is about 5 feet going from my modem to my router,you need to disable media servers on the ps3 if you do this or your upnp won't work on the linksys router,go to my website for more info.

a modem...is the thing you get from the people that give u internet ex. comcast,bellsouth,verizon,etc. if you have a router than your connection should be modem>router>ps3 so you would connect a ethernet cable into a spare space on the back of your router...if you dont have a router...than you need to plug it into your modem directly (in other words pull the computer that's plugged into it's cable out and plug that into ur ps3...if you dont have a modem than just plug the wire into where ever
