  • @LucielStarz123

I stand corrected, and add: As long as she is inspired by this wonderful trove of celestial music! P.S., have you heard her recording of the Barber concerto?

  • She have a unique face, the type that you can always vaguely remember even if you've only met her once.

  • (HAHN SOLO)

  • I'LL BE BACH

  • i know a lot of musicians who don`t believe in god, but - they all believe in Bach!

  • Hilary Hahn is a great violinist in the tradition of past masters such as Heifetz, Oistrach, Kogan, Menuhin, etc. It is rare to see someone with such devotion to the highest excellence. I hope she plays till she's 90.

  • @tbarrelier I hope she can still play well past 100

  • One of those girls you see on the street and think "Ah, she's cute" but it turns out to be a world class violinist. Her beauty is overshadowed by her talent.

  • uh....like a boss

  • it should never look that easy :L i work up a sweat even looking at it never mind attempting it

  • @FATWalkthroughs bravo indeed

  • BRAVOOOO!!!!!!!! =D

  • sick

  • it looks like the video is in high speed till you look at the orchestra and audience.

  • speechless.........totally fascinated..

  • Imaginem se ELA FOSSE GUITARRISTA????? VIXI!!!!

  • does anyone mind telling me the BPM on this?

  • @acer993 The dotted eighth note is between 80-85 BPM...

  • Beautiful women, and beautiful music; what's not to like?

  • ¿Qué es poesía?, dices mientras clavas

En mi pupila tu pupila azul.

¡Qué es poesía! ¿Y tú me lo preguntas?

    Poesía eres tú.

  • I had to sit down :-)

  • EXCELENTE

  • can't say she doesn't play well but... she uses to much of her bow

  • @eyekir no she doesnt. to fill the royal albert hall (which is a huge space) and to maintain quality of tone you need to use all the bow you have. otherwise it wont project. even when shes micced up it would sound shit if she used smaller bows

  • @DualThunder ...how does she compare with Midori...I mean based on some of the tunes avaible on records.

  • FUUUUUUUUCK U ,!,

  • Comment removed

  • So much imagination and arrogance in the face at the end beautiful song but so ugly the player

  • her recent performances are not all that though. I used to love her. Still do...but I guess she will get better than this. You need an extra-ordinary ear to hear the notes. And I heard she has a lot of nasty mouth....lol. love this part

  • @NYNEX1000 never seen her live but her some of her recordings are phenomenal. the sib concerto in particular is ridiculously good.

  • @DualThunder Tx. we will check it out.

  • Gorgeous!

  • headbob

  • I guess if she would like to marry me...

  • Loved this ever since hearing Mairead Nesbitt play it with a Celtic twist.

  • Goood exercise

  • @30inventionman yes it is in G minor. Hope that helped you

  • hilary on this recording was very young ... I think this run simply fantastic and a clarity unheard .... greetings to all American music and also you Hilary ... I'm also a violinist and I feel great admiration for your talent ... hopefully read this and respond MESSAGE .. my name is Ismael Galherbach .. I'm from Argentina many greetings in America ...BYE BYE!

  • The violinists in the orchestra behind her are listening and thinking "FML".

  • If BACH was watching / listening to this he would be 100% proud of you! (I would like to say 1000% but that's the exaggeration people use I don't like to) To put it in slang: "You go girl!"... Amazing performance! Bravo!

  • why dothey wear these ridiculous flags at their heads??

  • how can i do vibrato. can you do a video please

  • @TheSantiagosanty go on youtube, put in vibrato and yxou got thousands of vids showng

  • is this the g minor, idk , im lost, little help utube

  • This is my favorite part in the Sonata and Partitas series, too bad it's seen as a race to the finish because the resonance and patterns in the piece are so much fun.

  • She looks like a doll or is it me?

    -She has a porcelaine skin¨

    - Rosie lips

    - Big eyes

    - a black velvet dress

    - nice curves

    -sory perfect curves

    - lovely "blond venitien" curls

She is just beautiful and her playing is awsome!!!

  • I love her!

  • holy fuck

  • 9 dislikes - her 9 ex-boyfriends.

  • @xllatigid no, her only boyfriend is her violin

  • AWESOME! i wanna learn this. where are the notes? please?

  • she looks so youngg!

  • C pas trop mal...

  • It's quite wonderful that someone can play with such accuracy at such speeds

  • Fantastic! She's boss at Bach.

  • Impressive. Virtuosic. But not therefore "good". All notes, no phrases.

  • @lodovicosforza Which performance were you listening to?

  • @lodovicosforza where could she improve o great one?

  • @lodovicosforza you must be deaf.

  • Amazing!

Beautiness + Smartness + Excellent taste = Hilary Hahn.

  • so perfect performance, this girl has talent.

  • Magnificent.

  • very Talented!

  • Quel talent...formidable.....

  • Excellence.

  • Unbelievable!!!!

  • All the old people in the orchestra are looking at her like... "Damn why am i not that good?" Props Ms. Hahn!

  • @kris8674 They probably are as good as her. They just weren't able to make it into the limelight. That's why they're in one of the best orchestras in the world. It's not easy to make it into these Philharmonic Orchestras. The people in the orchestras had to play concertos for auditions as well.

  • @travonprince which orchestra is this? and im a violin musician myself that works so much for solo works and orchestras. I play concertos for my auditions all the time :) they are the most beautiful pieces of music as well as mozartian operas and symphonies :)

  • @travonprince do you work in the music business as a classical musician?

  • @kris8674 Nope. I'm only a sophomore in high school but I know what it takes to make it into an orchestra of this caliber.

  • @travonprince thats amazing! I am a junior in high school and im preparing myself to be in ont of those orchestras haha :). But it really interests me how you know this and you dont perform in orchestras. excuse me if i am mistaken

  • she´s just amazing. How old is she?

  • i need her as my teacher.

  • who conducted her??????????????

  • such mesmerizing, beautiful playing...

  • That violinist at 1:48 seems very jealous....

  • ...but do you know who the eight "people" were? THAT is the question here. In fact, the individuals who voted thumbs down were, in fact, a group of music appreciation students from the Planet Klingon.

  • where can i get its sheet ?

  • Comment removed

  • that old lady in blue behind probably disliked this video....

  • @AnneBoleyn88 Just a minute now! Hold yer horses, Annie! Nathan Milstein was old (very old, in fact) when he played the "Bach, Sonata No 3, Allegro assai" at, what, 83 years of age. I suggest you (and the others, here) take a gander at this jewel (here at Youtube) 'fore you go talkin' about "old" in such a fashion....(enjoy)

  • Amazing...!

  • She looks pretty, but dose she really sound so good? Of course it's a good play, but i think there's still a lot space for improvement. Not to mention others, when she rushes the note in conjunction the whole structure crumbles, it's too far away from Heifetz's play.

  • Comment removed

  • @lucasfranzcanada WHAT?I'm a violinist and I like this video and if you think that those people are violinists you are a stupid, because I'm not as good as she is at playing but I do my best and I love the music I play.People who play do that because they love music and it makes them feel right. So why dislike this video? Jealousy has nothing to do with this. It's like saying: 'Oh, you dislike Bach because he's better at writing music than you are!' that doesn't make sense and it's a bit offensive

  • @lucasfranzcanada I am violinist, and I love Hilary Hahn. However, my non-musician family member did not like this because he prefers the talentless, more popular stars of today. LOL So, the eight people were probably just clueless when it comes to music.

  • @Violinfanatic I just have removed my comment, I think people are not understanding what I meant! Sorry if I offended you as well, that wasn't my intention!

  • in the end she's like "nailed it"

  • 速い

  • most people don't realize how hard this is to play. it sounds so easy. good job.

  • @TheSundropgurl ITS HARD. I'm playing it right now, It takes alot of maturity to play as it was intended.

  • @2007wesman I don't think it takes so much maturity as innocency to get there :)

  • 1. how old was she here?

    2. She is phenomenal.

  • A music like this you have to admit how great a composer Bach was and is.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wowwwww

  • I´m here because of beardyman :D

  • I think I'm in love

  • LOVELY!!

  • Those who applause should be hand cut out.

  • whoohow too fast ,she plays it like she has an ak-47 in her hands...the people in the baroque period used to dance when pieces like that were played, and the tempo was very slow because they couldn't move fast in the corsets they wore.sorry for my bad english.

  • @11diewahrheit Its presto not alegretto

  • 1:45 el violin concertino la ve con envidia jajajaja

  • @JDawgBro86 i totally get you haha

  • I love how her hair bounces up and down when she plays with such passion. Everytime I want to hear beautiful music of Bach, I listen to her.

  • Up bow start, awkward but her sound is clear and fast

  • Super!

  • level up

  • Y does she keep going left then right then left etc etc etc

  • @MegaWill501 When you play an instrument of such resonance and life for almost all your life, You'll find why :)

  • Did she start that up bow!?

  • wow!!! cn q q gracia ejecuta es genial!!! increible

  • wow!!! cn q q gracia ejecuta es genial!!! increible

  • She is just gorgeous!

  • Great video of a perfect performance!

  • Nodame2006 ?

  • She is impecable !!!!

  • oh my god i want to be her!

  • ahhh I dont think paganini has much passion

  • sheer class, i got her album in the car :D

  • I promise myself every time that when I listen to this while doing other work, I won't get distracted. To this moment, I have never diverted my attention away from this video. So beautiful!

  • Her technique is impressive.

  • While I can not have enough praises for her flawless techniques, however, to this day, I still think her interpretation of Bach is on the technical and sterile sites, thus lacks a bit of the "humanity's appreciation" of Bach.

  • Hilary Hahn is truly the queen of bach. Her technique is....quite literally...flawless.. Her musicality is brilliant, and she is able to take this mvmt at such a fast tempo while keeping the overall phrasing intact. Dang....

  • I watched and compared benchanviolin this seams hurried I don't know if it's her overall robotic movements that are confusing me with it but Ben has a certain softness with the quieter parts that really compliments music.

There is also another Asian who played at ytso cant remember the name, but he's a doctor, who was almost identical to Ben chan again this version seams hurried compared to his. Don't know what others think?

  • @TheAnonyy This movement is marked Presto (not Allegro, not Allegretto, not anything grazioso) and furthermore is the finale of a four movement sonata which means it should be fast, furious, and wild. Yes, phrasing is a must, but this is not one of those sensitive, soft kinds of movements. Although HH is known for her amazing control, if anything I would have liked to hear her play this with even more abandon.

  • bravo!

  • 2:02 Close to Fail !!

  • @Sergio199519 Wish I could 'fail' as good as that!

  • not to mention I watched it more than hundred times.

  • great.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oha man :D die geht schon ab :D

  • oha lan :D

  • I think this is such an amazing recording.

Does anyone know how old she is in this video?

  • she's awesome violinist n am a big fan of her n her playing..god bless her :-)

  • but she looks arrogant

  • @pqrsut

of course she does. she's amazing. I would too if I spent my life getting this point lol.

  • excellent double stop

  • WOW!

  • her sound is so different from the somewhat robotic motions she makes... amazing!

  • Same dress as the one in her Shostakovich?

  • she is perfect, my favorite violinist!!

  • the more she plays, the more beautiful she looks

  • she is super awesome

  • no words

  • Bravo!

  • she's so adorable

  • I forgot to drink my coffee.

One amazing composer and one super player.

    Fantastic!

  • i love you hilary hahn... incredible

  • hey guys i have a question, why does Hilary have that piece of cloth on her chin rest. i see some of my friends at orchestra who also have a piece of cloth on their chin rest when they play. what is the purpose of that?

  • @DD7n I believe its because of the irritation some violinists get on their necks that prevents the viiolinist from practicing. Correct me if im wrong but i believe thats why Hahn uses one. The cloth can solve a number of shoulder rest and chirest problems so its never really a specific issue when you see someone useing a cloth :). I'm no expert.

  • @n345950 -- You're partly right. The cloth is used because some violinist's chins 'slip' while playing. The shoulder rest is used to help with shifting positions on the violin and to keep the violin in place. Before I started using my shoulder rest, the violin would irritate my skin where I would place it, leaving an oval shaped mark.

  • WHO DISLIKED THIS?

    TRAITOR.

  • @LeChanathon I dislike this. At that speed the music is lost. I think she missed the train anyway, if she was in a hurry.

  • @camilocuesta its a pitty you don't remember what "presto" means; she´s one of the best performers of Bach music, no doubt

  • I think she started on an up bow by slurring the first two notes? Is anyone sure?

  • @WarholVirtuoso She started on an up bow, followed by bowing as it comes. So she didn't slur the first two notes, she just started from an up bow, then the second note, she did a down bow, then as it comes. (: I think she did that perhaps because she didn't want to accent the first note of every bar.

  • How the bloody hell did she manage to start on an up bow and play it so amazingly?

  • She's the best i love her interpretation!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was so in awe of her mad skills that I almost drooled on my computer

  • Uggghhhhh, I get so depressed listening to her cause I want to play like that so bad.

  • All those other players are sitting there quietly and seemingly quite unimpressed. Hmmm.

  • if only I could sound like that...

  • THE 2ND PART IS MORE COOL

  • I got chills *o*

  • Ben Chan Got more views on this piece than her, enough said :D

  • wohaaaaa!! Incredible! I try to play, too... but i'm not soooooo good... XD

    INCREDIBLE!

  • I PALY THAT SONG IN GUITAR AND IS SO SAD WITH THE VIOLIN :) IM LOVING THAT GIRL
