I disagree. I understand the corniness part, but since Disneyworld "fakes" it by lip syncing, these guys are all real and therefore, the Disneyland crew just looks so much more...natural.
They look like they're having a blast! World's staff looks like they're just doing their job...not so fun.
Any showboat that sings is just painful. I think anything with Disneyland is excellent. (Disneyworld is all fake and copied to the less extent. I understand disneyland tokyo and paris doing things similar but disneyworld should make up it's OWN things that don't exist on the other ORIGINAL park.) However, I did not want to hear "Going Down The Bayou" 29 times during the day. Disneyworld=no magic. The only magic in Florida will be that AMAZING Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. I can't wait for it!
this is so sad yet i am proud of it. i want to some day work at disney doing this kind of stuff so, i am trying to learn all of the moves that the cast members do cause i am going in 2 days, the last day of the show and i want to be pro like them.
The fellow who plays Prince Naveen is my favorite among the other actors who share this role. He sounds like him, acts like him and looks like him! Love it! :)
you must have a membership, and it just so happens that my best friends family had one. The food there is aaaammmmaaazzziiinnngg. Seriously, they have an appitizer like bar with shrip and cheeses and salad and then you order a hot entree, i always get the pasta, and there is a long dessert bar. It is awesome.
watching these shows makes me appreciate working there so much more...love that princess tiana sings live it makes it so much better. can't wait till the movie is out. YAY!!!
OMGoodness, the showboat performance was posted!! I had heard of the Princess and the Frog Jubilee steamboat at DisneyWorld but I did not think I would get a chance to see it. Thank you for posting the video. :)
Omg!! her voice is soooo pretty she sounds really really good little kids wouldn't be able to tell the difference, heck even i prob wouldn't notice haha lo jk
Thank you so much for posting this! We were in Disneyland on Friday and Saturday but missed this event! I had wanted to see it badly but since we were there celebrating my sister's birthday I wanted to make sure she got to do what she wanted first. I am so glad I got to watch it now through your post!!
I agree. Live singing adds a layer of professionalism with the show and since DLR is in the backyard of the entertainment industry it isn't difficult to get folks who know how to sing well.
WDW has this, sadly recorded audio, but both productions in both parks have been recieved excellently, live singing or not. I think it was a great idea for the parks.
I'm pretty sure at WDW, it has something to do with equity issues. All the face characters in the outdoor shows and parades at Disney World have to lip sync. There's some union issue that keeps them from speaking for themselves. Characters in indoor theatre shows like Finding Nemo the Musical, however, are permitted to use their own voices. Wish I knew the full details of why that is.

I prefer the recorded voices. As someone who wouldn't mind doing this for a dayjob it's a relief I don't really have to sing. Besides it breaks away from the illusion if I hear the actor's real voices during the shows.

I actually like the recorded voices, too, for the same reason. It's just cooler, to me, to hear Bruno Campos and Anika Noni Rose's voices echoing through the park.
@loonercrazy there are some people at wdw who sing live, mostly in the high school musical show. But the only people down here who sing are equity actors.
@fiyaro1 Very few are singers in any of the shows at WDW nowadays. Beauty only has 2 singers as just one example. HSM3 was designed by DLR, so you have the singers because that is how the CA team designed it to be. But bottom line the talent at DLR is so much richer and better thus allowing the CA property to provide a better entertainment experience like Tiana's Showboat Jubilee.
yeah i noticed that in WDW...they just use the soundtrack....failness. GO DISNEYLAND!

This was a great show! Would love if it they kept it going. Using the Mark Twain Riverboat for this, and also Fantasmic, was a great idea!

Aw, darn, I missed it! Maybe they'll do this every year for the anniversary of the movie's release? (Dec. 11) That would be AWSEOME!
