I went to a Rememberance Service in St Paul's Cathedral a few years ago and this was played on the organs as the old soldiers made their way into the Cathedral, carrying their Colours and wearing their medals with such pride and their expressions of sorrow and remembrance for their fallen comrades and I can never hear this without a tear coming to my eye for all the pain, suffering and sorrow in the world.
Really very good, you have done justice to a brilliant song. It is such a shame that it is a live recording and not a studio one. Greetings from the UK
you never cease to inspire me every time i listen and hear your organ playing. I am so drawn to the music and God such wonderful registrations I love the organ. God bless you always and make more music for the Lord. Thanks so much for posting.
Adagio in g minor: The most beautiful piece ever written, is now the most holy! After I heard you perform it on the church organ, I wept. May God Bless you.
Amazing interpretation of Albinoni. One of my most favorite pieces in the world. The organist is phenomenal and emotes so much. Thank you for uploading this, Absolutely love it. Mihaela
Ah! This is just refreshing Mr. joenwayne. I heard you about an year back. To hear it again is very pleasant exp. I hope to listen to barber's a 4 strings too, from your organ.
Thanks for your kind comments and for viewing. I don't have the "Liebestod" posted but do have the Wagner "Prayer" (from "Rienzi") and Barber "Adagio for Strings". You might like those.
When i hear this piece i get tears in my eyes. It is so beautiful. you are playing this piece with so much warmth. I wish that i can play this song. In one word beautiful. Thanks for it and a lot of greetings from Holland.
I hope you remember me. Oflate i am listneing to two other gians in adagio family. 1. Samuel Barber's Adagio for strings and 2. Henryk Gorecki symphony 3. I am not sure whether symphony 3 of Gorecki fills up Adagio category. But they are great too, as much as albinoni's Adagio in g minor.
I don't remember exactly. Basically it's the Swell Salicional and Voix Celeste, Echo Fern Flute, Muted Viole and Viole Celeste coupled to the Choir Concert Flute and Flute Celeste for the left hand. Oh my God! It's amazing! I can play the piano but pipe organ is really impressive! The sound is also thw appropriate! In few words, a very nice performance! Congratulations!!
I have listen to 'joenwayne' for several months now in silence, enjoying the worship service playing and his solo performances on the You Tube. What wonderful playing. A quiet man who seems to take his music serious. Excellent! I especially like the hymn "Solitude" Thanks Joewayne God Bless you!!!
I love music pieces written in minor keys too- not only organ works, but also vocal or instrumental works( for example,3rd movement- duet for soprano and bass from Cantata 137 " Lobe den Herren"(BWV137).

You know, for a relatively simple piece on the organ, it's surprisingly awkward to play.
That church sound rather dry. Not much reverb?
PointyTail 4 years ago 2
While we don't have 9 seconds of reverberation like Saint John the Divine in NYC, our room is very resonant. If the camcorder were out in the Nave then one would hear more of the resonance - but here it is is up in the Sanctuary very close to the organ console.
joenwayne 4 years ago
Having got a simple sheet music of this, I *tried* and agree that it's hard to play ALL 3 lines with 2 hands only. It really needs a min. 2 octave pedalboard and some practice using it. Then it's simple... one RH melody, one LH slow theme-setter (if a separate manual and registration - the better), pedal bass in simple octave jumps (G-g-G, F-f-F)...
Having not too much piano training, also I find hard to 'superpose' in real time the flats on E's and B's in the 'key signature'... any hints ?
