  • Hi Lisa, I am a beginner and have to learn some really slow drum beats, the singer likes to sing slow originals and Leonard Cohen type songs, any tips for these type of beats,

    thanks

    Margot

  • @Serryblue22 Believe it or not, the hardest part will by far be keeping your temp steady and not speeding up. Keep it simple and just focus on your tempo. Play with a metronome in your ears if you can. There are even free online ones.

  • Hi! Thanks a lot for doing this! I'm from Costa Rica and i'm trying to learn how to play starting from zero because I don't now a think about drumming so I'm taking this videos as a base method to do it. I'm practicing this beat right now haha... Thanks again!

  • You are an excelling teacher Lisa !!!

  • @djladydrummer Thank you. That means a lot coming from anyone but especially from a drummer of your caliber.

  • Awesome!!!,more girl drummers.........I say.

  • @plemyk Right on!

  • I'm looking into buying my first drum set. I only have experience with drumming from playing with my fellow percussionists school. I'm looking for a cheap drum set, but I want a bass, snare, toms, floor tom, high hat, crash, and ride. Where would you suggest I look, or do you know any good drum sets like this for a price of about 200-500 dollars?

  • @yeahbzl I think the best way to go is craigslist. There are tons of entry level kits with every thing included on any given day. Find a kit and then look up what they sell for new so you can get a good idea what you want to pay for a used one. Best of luck to you!
