The Gospels were written an average of 90 years AFTER Jesus' death, and the Apostles were at least in their 30's like Jesus, so they'd have to be 120 at the "eye-witness" writings of the Gospels.

Only religion with out the good news of Jesus Christ atonement is religulous. If preaching the love of Christ is evil than the folks at VBF are deceived.

How do you know? The world has never been without religion.... Religion is bad in itself.... It's when People have a relationship and have the Holy Spirit guiding and living inside them is when Good is brought to this world....

"The world has never been without religion." Well neither has the world been without wars. I say we try living without it. You ask "how do I know?" Take the 9/11 highjackers, all thought they were going to a much better place. What put that thought into their heads? It wasn't a scientist or school teacher, it was a radical Islam - whose beliefs are no more ridiculous than your own.

this movie may of been off, but the point is valid. Religion is the worst plague ever unleashed up mankind. It turns decent people into fear ridden blind follows and you as a fellow human should want and expect more. Now is the time where we can finally doubt and disprove with fact. Without being burned alive. But people cling to hope and to find meaning to their lives soo much that they refuse to believe otherwise. Despite fact. Fact should be the basis of all human actions. Not ancient lies.

Someone needs to invite Pastor Wrong to our little discussion. Surely he could explain how God put dinosaur fossils here to test our faith. He needs to post the service from Easter Sunday 2009. He talked more about religulous and threw out a lot of facts proving BILL MAHER IS A MORON!!! Oh MrBloody...you're so right. Spelling ridiculous wrong makes me want to completely disregard everything he says. Really??? Did you think before u wrote that? What Pastor Ron has to say is and has always been much more important than a spelling error.

Personally Pastor Ron, you really had me following you on Sunday, and i loved going to church at VBF, but now after listening to this its irritated me. That movie had so much more to offer then turning people away from Religion, it made them explore it for themselves. I think you should be ashamed of yourself, for not letting the people learn about it themselves. Your no better then you were claiming Bill Maher is.

You're right when you say that people should explore Religion for themselves! However, Maher's film didn't have this result! a mockery of our faith. It is super obvious that the purpose of Maher's film is to turn people from their faith & to show that it is silly & unnecessary! This is evident in the editing, camera angles & general cinematography & choice of language & content. In fact Maher was so unobjective & focused on bashing Christians that he didn't bother checking the facts that he used to support his position. I'm proud of Ron for pointing this out & you should be too! Shame on YOU for criticizing him!

That's funny? At first he talked about the super "mental powers" that Jesus bestows upon his faithful followers. Now he's talking about how dumb most of his Christians counterparts really are. Are Buddhists dumb? They laid the foundation for relativity and taught us how to be mindfull of our own ignorance. Moses told us to kill people who don't believe in the same god. Proof: Deuteronomy 13:9 - Stop confusing your own dellusions for ultimate truth - you're only fooling yourselves.

As I said before. Chapter 13 verse 9 of Deuteronomy commands God's followers in plain language to kill people who tempt them to follow other gods. EVEN IF IT'S YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!! You guys can lie to yourselves all you want to, but Moses was kind of a dick.

There's a fellow in the Book of Job (book right before Psalms) named Eliphaz. He asked a question that is so relevent for today, "Can a man be more righteous than God?" It seems todays unbeliever thinks they are. It is so easy for unbelievers to questions God's righteous commands to Israel regarding killing Israel's enemies. But unbelievers would do well to heed Romans 3.4 (6 books into the New Testament) . A God who has such absolute power and 'right' to judge. Wow. But He delights to save.
