all that ugly work done to the DG G35 and the IP G35 was about dead even with him. also, what are these low 14 to mid 14 times these kids have. I don't get how they can be that bad, unless of course we're in 100 degree weather well above sea level.
It's not a fuel pump issue, nor fuel injector issue. Full throttle just require more gas hence it's just better to run half tank or more, rather than an almost empty tank when full throttling the G35 coupe.
My co-worker's 07 Maxima also runs better with more gas than almost empty. This is with stock fuel system parts on stock cars. Here in Canada, only 2 kinds of gas is acceptable with reguards to better performance, V-Shell 91 oct. and Sunoco or Petro Canada 94 oct.
Given it's a 13.8 to 14.1 ET at 98 mph, you don't feel this much anymore in the whole 1/4 mile (top end, mid range, low).
Naturally Aspirated can run anywhere from 29 to 34* spark advance with 860 to 910 millivolts 02 reading/s, 105 KPa manifold pressure..
Do you the readings when you put a turbo or supercharger? ..From whatever car you're driving, a nice one let's say, ..if you turbo it, even at 7-10 psi, or with a supercharger, ... you will feel it, seat of your pants; Self Tuning..

I want to know the boost level AND what spark advance in degrees this SRT-4 runs at from 2400 rpm up to shift point. What is its O2 reading in Millivolts at 100% throttle position from 2400-6000 rpm. What's it's LTFT / STFT during full throttle? Where in KPA does it start to break away from 14.7:1 Air fuel ratio?

@thiefgarr Gee I don't know! my Seebring came from the Factory with the 2.4Turbo engine from the SRT4 but it has a semi-automatic transmission and a different intake manifold all from the factory, the only mods I have is free flow exhaust, AGP actuator and I'm running high to mid 14's at around 2,200Meters over sea level you see that is the problem here in Mexico.. the altitude, I honestly don't think you'll be running 14's here cuz i have tested stock G35 and they are around 15 lows 14highs
@thiefgarr I gotta admit that paying 18 Grand for a G35 is a good deal, I paid for my '06 Seebring Turbo (I think this version is exclusive for MEX) around 19 US, of course I bought it brand NEW... with the few mods i have, boost is at 16PSI and AIR/FUEL is at 10 (very rich). The fact is that here in Mexico you need about 60 US Grand to get your hands on a new G37 / 370Z and that is a lot of money! and still here at 2,200 meters over sea level you can't even get them stock to the mid 14's range!
@Arleer157 The G35 and G37 coupe/sedan is Not a pure sport or track car like the Nissan 350z or 370z. It serve it purpose in the premium segment. And look is subjective. I think the G35 coupe look way better than the 350z but the on the other hand, I think the new Nissan 370Z look better than the G37 coupe.
@buddyclubs why is there no hope in modding a "G"? It all depends on what you do? I have the 37S and iv done intake, headers, full exhaust and a chip and there isnt many V8s that can keep up
those times r accurate.... no stock g35 is doing 13.7 there to heavy the z's r faster and they cant even get 13.7 stock i know i beat g35 and z's all the time in my ss cobalt. there pretty easy to walk. g 35 only have single intake, the 07 and up z's have dual intake and there lighter and still cant do 13.7 stock.

@vegetaum it's the traction control that's killing the run. the g35 really overcorrects when it detects wheel spin, it's almost like the engine completely cuts out. this will even happen during a rough 1 => 2 shift during normal acceleration, it's like a complete loss of power. i had an audi before my g, that car had an excellent stability control system that would smoothly and quickly reduce power just enough to regain traction, the difference is night and day.

Albeit fairly quick. Comparing other 13.5-14.5 second cars. Rancid gas mileage.. It depends on the car not the origin.
Auto supercharged G here. The best part is being able to chirp 4th every time, not lose boost between shifts (keeping your foot planted), and never having to worry about missing a shift. Of course... My auto G transmission is built, so it's a little different >:-D

At any drag strip, a car that does 13.9 ET is considered fast and will require the driver to wear a helmet.
I had a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix that does 14.1 ET before my 04 G35 coupe. And I could honestly say that the G35 feels faster than my GP.
Low quality gas will definately affect the G's performance even if 91 oct. Only V-Shell 91 octane does good, and 94 octane even better.
Also noticed that more gas on the tank on the G yields better acceleration than an almost empty tank.

The car is a V-6, automatic trans., FWD, twin turbo, and most importantly NO NOS!! , NO NOS!! ..hint, ..it runs less than 9 sec. in the 1/4 mile ET.
Now this GP has only 1 turbo and still does less than 9 sec. in the 1/4 mile, ..NO NOS!! NO NOS! Unlike supras with loads of nos.

@kempowarrior Old muscle cars can turn as well, some models are even considered the "track" version, as was the Camaro Z28 to the SS iirc.
BMW are luxury vehicles, even the "lowly" models are sophisticated, classy, expensive.
It's a sports car it's meant to go fast if you don't do that might as well buy a civic or the V6 version of said muscle/sports car. You wrapped me in a discussion when all I wanted to do was make fun of some slow G35s, you win, is that what you want?

@MindVirus Let me repeat myself, the Infiniti G35 coupe is Luxury Sport Coupe Not Sport Coupe in the first place. How many BMW 325i, 328i and 330i do know of stock beat the G35 or G37 coupe. Good luck on finding one. And the reason the BMW 335i beat the G37 coupe is because it has more horsepower and torque.

I like American as well but give credit where credit deserve. Yes I know Nissan make Infiniti as well. The same could said with VW, Audi, Lambo, Bentley and Bugatti. @kempowarrior Japanese cars aren't luxurious, because the Japs just use automated process, their cars feel cheap, as soon as I step into a BMW, Mercedes, I can see the time some little old German woman spent hand stitching the leather. I'm comparing it to the mustang V6 cause a V6 Mustang is a joke especially when it comes to speed. The same cannot be said with VW, what are you talking about VW makes good cars. Nissan does too, like the Skyline (Not the new GTR they got out)

@vegetaum it's the traction control that's killing the run. the g35 really overcorrects when it detects wheel spin, it's almost like the engine completely cuts out. this will even happen during a rough 1 => 2 shift during normal acceleration, it's like a complete loss of power. i had an audi before my g, that car had an excellent stability control system that would smoothly and quickly reduce power just enough to regain traction, the difference is night and day.

it's an '06. It's already getting a little old. I have no idea where this car will be in ten years, but it won't be in my garage, that's for sure. So I don't give a fuck what happens to Dodge, though it would be sad to see them gone completely. Will I buy another Dodge? No. It's pretty bad ass but I'm starting to like Audi alot. For real though my beef with Toyota is they don't make a real car anymore. With the Supra all was lost, that car had heart and soul. BRING BACK the SUPRA!!!

American Muscle is all about POWER.
Import is more about handling along with the speed. Lets face it, there are good thingsand bad things about each car.
In a drag race, muscle will probly kill import. But if your racing on a road with sharp turns or frequent turns, import is probly going to win.
I prefer imports, although i can't sayi wouldn't like a grand national or a camaro. I prefer my G35.

@zo0york3h you are dead on man. finally someone who gets it. i own a bmw 325ci and i have raced mustangs on curved streets before. i was able to hit turns at 70 that was damn near impossible for a mustang to hit at 40. on drag strips mustangs will win but streets are owned by imports.

@mclb10 There is no comparison, it's not the world vs the US.... Chevy vettes, camaros, or the trans ams, they get great gas mileage and fast. Then you get the Hondas... decent cars at best, Nissans, or infinitis with the VQ engine. They get decent gas mileage and have decent power too. Now throw in Dodge... SRT8s the 300s the Chargers. Albeit fairly quick. Comparing other 13.5-14.5 second cars. Rancid gas mileage.. It depends on the car not the origin.

Auto supercharged G here. The best part is being able to chirp 4th every time, not lose boost between shifts (keeping your foot planted), and never having to worry about missing a shift. Of course... My auto G transmission is built, so it's a little different >:-D
