Them not performing this song was my only disappointment from the Chicago show a few weeks ago. Other than that, it was everything you could have asked for.
what's with all these kids that play "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band" and come on here to spew their ignorance about music??? Video games do not make you a musician, nor do they entitle you to make judgments about what sounds good.
very well said! I couldn't be more precise. You know, people I know actually find it harder to play guitar-hero at expert than playing a real guitar, whitch really pisses me off!

first time seeing the police... an alright so... didn't blow me away by any means... gov't mule and string cheese and sound tribe were a lot better but then again it seems like fewer and fewer people come to bonnaroo for good music or even know what good music is... thanks for the post nonetheless
I have 2 concert tickets too many (best seatplaces) so if anybody is interested just let me know... I don't want to make profit, just getting my money back... thanks

worst performance at bonnaroo. Way to take ur shirt off sting and dance like a fool. Oh and good job on ending an hour early too, Girl Talk saved the night
c´mon folks.i love old police´s sound, but this is the new police, we´ve to love them, sound good and fresh. They give a new sound and we have to let them gon on creating. Adoro el sonido antiguo de police, pero este es POlice 2007, y no pretendamos escuchar a police como hasta el año 84, ya que es una nueva propuesta y es excelente, los fans de police como yo,estamos felices de verlos otra vez!!!
I'm a huge Police fan, and I like Sting...but somehow it just doesn't sound like a Police song anymore, the way they were playing it here. It just sounds too much like Sting's recent songs and I like his early style a lot better. Synchronicity II is an awesome song. I hate to say it, but he lost his edge here.
It simply doesn´t sound like an old Police performance, because it´s 2007, not 1983. Everything in the Universe is in motion (including planets, people and songs).
absolutely. This was so much better than the 70s and 80s. I think people should stop hoping for the past and accept and enjoy how great they sound now.
Ok just got back from the miami dolphin stadium about an hour ago ...honestly...it was a hit an miss with there music the first two opening songs rocked but then they got lame and it lingerd 4 a long time and then at the end they beefed it up with so lonley ,stewart really let loose on that one that was good ,but over all no impact on me i was thinking about my dentist appointmant tomorrow
i bet that was the quote of saturday night. i know i said it. watching a lot of these clips from in front of the stage, i feel like i'm seeing a completely different show.
Bass frequencies travel further than (treble) guitar frequencies, I'm sure you already know this though, but nonetheless I love the new arrangement of this song.
Yob... it's apparent while at 'roo and looking round the net, if anyone wasn't directly in front of the stage, it was a completely different show. Sort of like half thought it was kick ass and the other half severely disappointed. I'm one of the latter. It left much to be desired. We walked into Centeroo right after they started and couldn't even hear them or the crowd by the ferris wheel. Unlike Tool and many other bands we could hear all the way out in b.f.e. at our camp.
I agree with livenire, that is a good explanation of what happened. The reason why that is frustrating is that if you want to sit/stand extremely close to the main stage, you have to get there hours early, causing you to miss many other performances throughout the day/afternoon. All I know is that Radiohead headlined last year, we were further away than we were for The Police, and they blew us away.
i didn't wait that long at all and i was to the black barrior and the guys in yellow shirts let me up to the main front for the last few songs. i could see everything and the sound was amazing. i was in the very front for Ziggy Marley and barely waited in line at all.
They're playing better than they ever have - period. More nuance, brilliant arrangements, excellent singing, drumming, guitar shredding...and joy! So happy you lads are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make more music please...life is short - and you're so good.
i know this video might give off the impression that The Police put on a good show. Well, they didn't. By far one of the worst performances at the 'Roo.
Dissapointing too, because myself and many fans were looking forward to seeing them.
That makes absolutely no sense. It looks like they put on a good show but they really didn't? So the video is lying??? All the fans who are singing along are lying? The critics who raved about their performance (including NY Times) are lying? It sounds to me that you just don't like the Police. Or maybe you were being unreasonable and expecting The Police circa 1978.
I was there about 50 yards from center stage. It was an amazing show, don't care if it ended 45 minutes early. They played everything you'd expect with exception of Don't Stand So Close. 100,000 people singing and screaming is an other-worldly experience. Glad I got to be a part of the reunion tour. I highly suggest finding a way to see this show. Cool video!
yeah,,i was kinda disappointed too when they didn't play this song on their last concert..ever..in Madison Square Garden

Same with the one at the Gorge... I wished they played this at the gorge on the 12th, it's my favorite song.

I was there too. The Chicago show on may 10th was the first time they didn't play the song on their tour and they don't play it at all anymore.

No. If Guitar Hero was the first place you heard this song, or only recognised it from Guitar Hero, you need to leave... Now...

It sounds good, don´t care for the half time passages too much tho, they should have left it rocking all the way through, but still cool.
