I wonder if MrAdel007 believes Also in talking snakes, chariots that fly out into space, virgins ability to produce a fertized egg without sperm, and that particular and specific people are superior over others? We have found millions upon millions of data that proves humans could not have lived with dinosaurs. But to put one's belief in a myth begotten by 1000's of years of fear and subterfuge to others is a myth I'd rather not deal with. If God can do everything - why doesn't he. Torture?

The R.C. Catholic church accepts the age of the earth as 4.5 billion years. They had to because they couldn't hold back the tide of scientific evidence. So they had to find away around biblical teaching of a 6000 yr old earth. So the church simply started to play on semantics, i.e. perhaps a day is 40 million years long and not 24 hours. Personally I think this was a 'clutching at straws' argument for the inaccuracy of the bible in the face of scientific evidence.

Yes I know that scientits calculate the age of the earth but carbon dating is not accurate because all the planets on the solar system are cratered by thousands of impacts and even rendered completely dead , logically earth cant last millions of years..

Carbon dating is only good for somewhere around 50,000 ~ 70,000 years. Radiometric is what is used for older things. Wikipedia it so you get a better understanding.

Think of planets as huge vacuum cleaners. Their mass = gravity(suction). When the solar system was forming there was countless asteroids that got sucked up. Eventually you pass a heaving cleaning period where impacts are rare. If you look at other bodies in the solar system, they have nothing(water, wind, volcanism) to erode those impacts so they are preserved. Hope this clears up your thinking that the earth cant last for millions of years.

Impacts are not rare , earth supported 130 000 major impacts in the past ..Not too long ago on 30 june 1908 a small object hit earth it was known as the Tunguska event..the impact was seven hundred times more powerful than Hiroshima.. And to say that other planets dont have water you are wrong Mars and one of the satellites of Saturn have water ..

Hi luxeden it's not carbon dating that is used for calculating the age of the earth, it's 'radio active decay. You state: 'logically earth cant last millions of years. Why do you think this? or what do you mean by this? Do you mean that life couldn't begin on earth?. Dr Montague is an anthropologist investigating and trying to prove the existence of the paranormal activity. For example, Montague today might think that quantum theory might explain (apart from the deliberate fraudsters) ghostly phenomenon. Luke Sanderson another character is a total sceptic. I like diolgue between these two charactors as they are at odds with each other. Since this is a comment board and can lead to arguments I thought I would use the name.

Since many of u users r from the United states I would like u to know who Dr Montague actually was. He's a character created by the American authoress the 'late' Shirly Jackson in her excellent novel 'The haunting of Hill House'. Robert Wise made a B&W film of the book in 1963 and called it 'The Haunting' but he changed the doctor's name to Dr Markway. The film in my opinion is outstanding and captures well the atmosphere of the book.
