man It sucks that the Raging demon's execution sucks in this game. It almost makes it entirely useless to use (as we see from the pros) I'm so glad they gave Gouki the new special for Super. Can't wait to see it in the next EVO

i gave edmaster b a good fight online but he beasted me with ken something awful...the one thing i cant get is why people dont use gouki zone properties to there fullest ...i mean his fireball game (called bullshit by some_) can destroy another shotos zone game with ease when used correctly.....

I hate to see Ed Ma pounded like this because basically Ed Ma has the American beat down Gouki even though Momochi's Gouki is the best cause he waits patiently for everything and tries to set it up. Even though I personally can't stand Diago's style which is basics all day you have to respect it cause it is very effective and that's why he's the best Ryu out right now.

I mean wen u play another pro u need to be careful and cautious of wut u do, because any little mistake and u can get punished for it and it can possibly cost u the match. Daigo knows all the advance shit to, but its not traning mode or a scrub where you can jus do and unload wut ever u want

actually japanese players are more known to play with higher tiers since the competition is so fierce in the arcades there. I read somewhere that in the top 50 japanese sf4 players, 40% of them use Sagat. So you cant say the japanese dont give a shit about tiers. In reality it's actually Americans who use lower tiers to make a statement. If you watch any arcade infinity you'll see more Vega's, Fuerte's and Ken's then you would then watching any japanese arcade stream/video.

Daigo has played shotos since the very beginning, and he hasn't broken away from that because of tier. Chun-Li was top tier in 3rd strike, Ken wasn't close to the top.

Have you guys seen the Choi vs Ed Ma match?

Choi's Ryu was super aggressive, rushing down Ed Ma's Gouki. All over him. Fireball, footsies etc. But Ed wins two straight sets. Almost perfects Choi in the final round. It was like a combo fest.

But Daigo defeats Ed and makes it look so straightforward. Waits for opportunities to appear and then takes them. Nothing flashy or over the top. Simply effective.Interesting how differently two legends played Ryu vs Ed's Gouki.

He demon fliped, Daigo was prolly assuming he was just going to dive kick from the demonflip, However he used punch instead of kick and that sent him to the opposite side of him. At this point if u assumed he was gonna dive kick daigo would be blocking, but since it crossed up he was blocking the wrong direction and basically ed ma got a free combo from it.

It was a very nice mind game that netted him some pretty good damage.

But the demon flip didn't cross daigo up at all. It honestly just looks like he whiffed the grab out of demon flip and landed behind daigo, threw out a few l.lp's to hit-confirm, and then went into the bread and butter combo for some quick damage to cover his own ass.

Its really more believable to just say that he went for a 50-50, went for either the grab or the flip.

Rather than some insanely psychic and unlikely demon-flip, cross up, FADC combo. I mean, it worked, so props to him lol, but how often does Daigo not anti-air something that carelessly thrown by an akuma? (Not to say he's godly and can't be fooled, but....c'mon...its daigo.)

I used cross up loosely, as in he landed on the opposite side of daigo, deffinatly coulda been on purpose

Also Ed Ma throws an EX Air Fireball, leaving daigo very little time to properly anti-air. That was the set-up to the demon flip.

Because its not 2 great of quality i cant tell if he uses the punch version or grab version of the Demon Flip. I find it a little harder to believe that someone of Ed Ma's Caliber would miss judge the distance of the grab.

I find it completely possible that he purposely wiffed in order to land a solid combo. Playing at that high of level, cut and dry tatics like EX Air Fireball to Demon flip dive kick wouldnt be enough.

I also noticed him demon flip kicking alot, two in a row and one point i believe. Those could have been the seeds planted for that mixup to work.

Also if u look real closely at the bottom right u can see the moment Ed Ma crosses Daigo and lands his c. Short he nods his head. Leading me to believe he purposely ment it.

it was a punch during the demon flip and not a grab...

And even if daigo saw the crossup, he prob would be blocking the right way.. but upblock, therefore ed ma uses the c.short so he would have to black opposite aswel as down block.

Also.. about the dive kick, at a close distant, it has a higher priority than ryus heavy dragon punch, so not a good idea for daigo to anti-air otherwise it woulda been a counterattack...loads of possibilties.
