I have this computer and I kind of hate it.

At times I don't realize how slow it is until I go on my desktop then I see how much it sucks.

I rarely use the screen because it's a hassle and doesn't recognize my words very well at all.

I'm beta testing the XT2.... so far so good with some issues with drivers.... It's on Windows 7 Ultimate and Business. It comes with 3-4GB of RAM (depends on which model) and either a Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, AMD Turion X2 Ultra, AMD Euvion X4 Quad Core, or Intel Core 2 Quad.... though I am only testing the Turion X2 and Core 2 Quad ones since the AMD Euviox one is on it's way and first laptop to have AMD's first quad core mobile proccesor and it's clocked at 3.2GHz.

It features multi-touch too

No the multi touch is working! You need to get the drivers. DONT LOAD SERVICE PACK 3 for XP on it! If you do the screen won't rotate. Does it go to touch mode when the pen is out of range? I have to double tap the screen with two fingers as a gesture to get to go into touch mode... ?

When set in auto mode the pen always takes priority. You should just double tap and it will allow touch to work. If you tap the screen with two fingers it should turn the screen off.

I just bought the XT and when i'm in a quite room lets say the library, i noticed that the harddrive has a high pitch noise, if you put your ear close to the harddrive you can heart it better, it can be very annoying, is this normal? i already replaced the HD and the noise is still there, could it be the motherboard.. ? thanks

Hrm, no I don't hear this noise. If it quits when you close the display it could be the LCD or digitizer. If you shut the hard drive off or boot without it, does it still do it? I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with it.

i took out the hard drive and went to the bios and the noise was gone, so i dont know what the problem is

Ya... Major BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH ISSUES. Had it less than a month (typing on it now) Love everything about it except for the frequent crashing... FOUR (4) Bluescreens so far. something about the ATI graphics driver...I LOVE it otherwise. Did I mention 3/4 bsod were when i was on youtube... the last was when i was on another streaming video site. Running Vista (the worst os ever)

Freshman is college or highschool? It is a nice computer, but expensive, even though they are coming down in price. It would be a great computer to have in school if you wanted a tablet because it is stealthy. Your other option would be the latitude d630 or d430 - the 430 is really small.

the lid is not held together by magnet. It is using a new technology on the hinge which doesn't require a physical latch. :-)

hey!!! great video!!! im considering buying a new laptop... this is one of my options... howmuch did u pay for it? howmuch extra did u pay for the external optical drive? how does the device feel? flimsy, sturdy?
