@fersho223 It's: "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony)" originally a jingle from a Coca Cola advert, sung by The New Seekers, and then re-recorded -- by the same band -- as an eventual hit single.
Presumably this tribute band covered it, tongue-in-cheek, due to it's similarity to "Shakermaker".
the guitarist has a real early oasis, Noel-style guitar playing. He plays, looks (despite facial appearance), and sounds like the man himself. It sounds really good. and the singer is good, but is trying a bit too hard to be like liam.
They talk about Oasis v. Blur... in their heyday, Oasis had tribute acts singing their songs like Nowaysis and Mike Flowers Pops...Blur had.......em.. well....noone.

this pretty funny and cool at the same time.....it reminds you how big oasis actually were in their heyday. lol.....who else has got so big that a coverband of the real band went on top of the pops cuz the REAL band was so big and unaccessible hah.
This won't be a popular comment, but I don't actually believe that Oasis ever did anything original. Everything they put out had echoes of songs released years before. That's not to say that Oasis never did anything decent. So before all you Oasis fans get on here to slate me, I suggest you listen to The Beatles, The Kinks and a few others to prove my point. (Even the exaggerated tension between the brothers is nothing new!)
It's ridiculous of you to assume that Oasis fans haven't listened to the Beatles or the Kinks. Most people have grown up on that music, especially the Beatles.
To say that Oasis simply copy the Beatles is a statement that ignorant people trying to pass themselves off as music fans have been saying for years.
I'm as much as a musician as I am a fan; I think you'll find that many Oasis fans couldn't even name a Kinks song; (to the majority of you that can, I apologise,) but to reiterate my point, please name for me a single Oasis number that doesn't rely heavily on another tune? Again, I am not saying that I don't think Oasis are any good- they got me into the guitar-what I'm saying is that they have NEVER written a completely original song.
Yeah, because "You Really Got Me" isn't a ridiculously well known song at all.
For a fan, you sure parrot the exact same thing as popular music media.
So besides the obvious ones, tell me, what other Oasis songs are completely unoriginal?
Who does Slide Away steal from? Shout It Out Loud? Angel Child? The Hindu Times? Gas Panic!? To say that they've "never" written a completely original song is ignorant.
What was Slide Away a rip-off of? Married with Children? Hindu Times? Sad Song? Shock of the Lightening? Falling Down? Song Bird? Cast No Shadow? Aquiesce? The Masterplan? Wonderwall? Stop Crying Your Heart Out?
I mean...if you are going to make a blanket statement (like Oasis has never written an original song) then you have to be expected to be pulled up on it!
I haven't even gone into obcure tracks...I think almost all of these are on Stop the Clocks
Er, didn't George Harrison have an album called Wonderwall? And Married with children is Oasis' "Woman is the n***** of the world" by Lennon. Please don't mistake me for you regular Oasis hate on here......I genuinely used to like them when they first came out, MsAngelChild, (I believe you were 9), but I soon saw that they were more of a tribute band than a band in their own right. I mean, you guys can't really believe that Liam would've worn those glasses and that jacket if it wasn't for Lennon
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So, if Noel wrote a song called Sgt.Peppers, would that have nothing to do with the Beatles, either? I think that Liam and Noel are pissing themselves laughing at their "fans". They had been taking you for mugs and it was only a matter of time before they called it a day. They didn't even have enough respect for you to get on stage and do what they were paid to do. Don't even put them in the same league as the Beatles; Our grandchildren will not be playing definitely maybe in 40 years time!
LOL...if you are going to accuse Oasis of being a tribute band in @ least have some MUSICAL basis for your arguement and not pure semantic. So based on the name of one song (not even a Beatles song) and a NONEXISTENT connection (either musically OR thematically) between a Lennon and Oasis song (again NOT a Beatles tune) Oasis are just a Beatlese cover band?
@MsAngelChild tribute band may be a bit harsh, but Noel Gallagher had been sued 6 times for plagiarism, so they must be "tributing" someone, if not the bealtes, and theres no saying that if John Lennon wasnt alive he wouldnt have sued over don't look back in anger
@MrEwant1980 Where are you pulling these figures out of? Noel has only been sued once or twice by Neil Innes for Whatever and The New Seekers for Shakermaker. John Lennon would of sued for Don't Look Back In Anger? Noel deliberatly put the piano bit at the start and I quote "50% taking the piss and 50% to create publicity for Imagine and make kids go out and buy it"
@FSX39 Stevie Wonder sued on the pre release of Whats the story, the original album contained Step Out, Wonder heard it and sued for the chorus of Everybodys Alright (Uptight) Judge awarded 10 % of royalties, so it was removed from the final album and replaced with the swamp song. Paul Gadd (Gary Glitter) sued for co writing hello for its use of "its good to be back". Neil Innes sued, New seekers sued, coca cola commenced procedings. george Harrison started, but later dropped

Considering their inclusion on best albums of all time lists that come out around the world people WILL be listening to Definitely Maybe and WTSMG in 40 years. They inspired many bands of the late 90's into the 00's. You are just too cynical and stuck in the past to care.
I heard Chris Martin say that the word yellow from "Yellow" was nothing except that he looked around his kitchen while looking for a two syllable word and saw a yellow pitcher. Does that make the song a tribute to a pitcher?
As for Wonderwall. It actually makes a TON of sense. The song is about salvation through love. Wonderwall was the soundtrack to an unreleases film about the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Essentially it means that worship of the woman you love as some people worship religion
Liam openly embraces Lennon's image. It's his tribute to him, in a way. Every rock, pop (...) has its roots somewhere. Doesn't make them any less talented.
Uhh... okay. So, because Oasis admitted that they took something from the Beatles or The Kinks, does that mean no one else did??? Have you listened to Badfinger? That's more Beatle than anything Oasis' released.
No Way Sis are a tribute band to Oasis. This video is not a cover of shakermaker, but a cover of "i'd like to teach the world to sing" by the new seekers. It also includes elements of cigarettes and alcohol, which has been alleged to be similar to T-Rex's Bang a gong. Oasis were sued by the original composers of "i'd like to teach the world to sing" because their single shakermaker was judged too similar in verse and melody.
Are you retarded? This is the ORIGINAL song that Oasis borrowed to write Shakermaker. This sond was in the charts long before Oasis formed. Please do some research.
Its ok to cover oasis song, but this is ridiculous, if you are gonna write your own songs at least have an own style for godsake! And the worst thing here is that the songs its a totally cheap copy to Shakermaker.
This is song its like a "Frankenstein song", its made off with a lot of oasis songs (cigs & alcohol, shakermaker, columbia, etc)
no offence to liam coz he will always be the king of rock and roll...but this geeza can actually hold the notes really well...alot like how liam used to be
It's a big joke, alright? The Oasis had been sued for coping The Seekers - "I'd like to teach the world to sing", in Shakermaker... Then the Oasis tribute band record this song "in a Oasis version", yes, because the original version is a little hippie... It will be cool if they record Beatles - Octopus Garden, but with arragements of "Whatever"... (sorry for the poor English fellows)

Nigger of the World is about the cross-cultural submisiveness of women to men.
Married With Children is about feeling trapped by a relationship...taking some time but knowing that you will probably be back with them anyways.

And yeah...Gallagher stuck a word in a song that was associated with obscure Harrison project. The song sounds NOTHING like any Harrison song.

For all those out of the loop -
This is No Way Sis, the Oasis tribute band. The song is I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing by the New Seekers, a cheesy song that was remade into a Coca-Cola ad in 1971. Oasis then supposedly stole the rythym for their song Shakermaker (Noel claims he actually stole it from the Beatles song 'Flying') and Coke threatened to sue. So this song is facetiously a cover of a cover of a cover of a song. Hope that helps.
