  • i know you wont post this,i understand that,but how can you promote something like this?your a smart guy,you seem logical in your analysis,but trying to hide this ,forgive me,piece of absolute junk,behind scientific notations and fancy verbage defies logic.if this THING actually worksd,we wouldnt need weights at all.why arent all the gyms using this?because you and i both knoe ITS JUNK! barbell,weights,5-120lb dumbells,power rack with pull-up bar,commercial grade treadmill.what else?

You are entitled, obviously, but that's not the point of this material which is: How to Make Weight Training Easier on Your Joints. If you don't see the need for it, or if you simply don't care, good for you and best of luck with the training.

  • @MrCranberry777 What ARE you ranting about? Who said anything about "3200.00"? If you want to lift weights, be my guest. Why would you spend this much time on video and material you don't like?

  • is the "shake weight" similar to this bodyblade? Could you perform the same exercises with them?

  • @pbennett13: Please direct comments to the Facebook page for CE. For some reason I don't get notified on all these comments. To your question: NO. Completely different. The Shake Weight is what happens when you drink and design infomercial products. If you can get the coordination right, the Bodyblades can work the muscles just as hard as weights (although differently) with almost no stress on the joints.

  • After getting your manual, I bought 1 large BodyBlade. My reasoning is that BB arm work doesn't seem to have a meaningfully strong metabolic effect, so nothing's lost, (except some time), by working 1 arm at a time. In spite of its greater expense, & awkwardness -if- 2 were used, the greater maximum resistance seemed a better option.

  • @ss153015 At some point, with the Bodyblade alone, you can't. First, you try to hit a time target, then work harder within the time. But once you are maintaining the rhythm, while working as hard as you can with a time target, there's really no way to measure with the bodyblade. When you are using the bodyblade as "replacement dumbbells", ie 2 blades mimicking a chest press, then you would use the chest press to measure progress. Just use the basic weight move as the guide.

  • @optimalex Bill, Great new book, worth every dime! So, are dead set against a Roman chair? Or can it be done in safety? I know what Stuart McGill thinks of it and Arthurs Back Machines. Seems like there are two major schools of thought. AJ saying these exercises best thing since slice bread and McGill, best way to blow a disc. Any thoughts? Thanks Chris

  • @40chrisk I don't get notified about all the comments for some reason, so if you use the Facebook page for Congruent Exercise I'll answer them right away. Check page 57 about the roman chair. As far as Arthur's back machines, what else would he say? I don't know that they are necessarily to be avoided, however. Thanks for the words and the interest.

  • I'm not familiar with the Impulse Training, although from a quick look at their website they look like they have some substance behind their programs.

    My personal interest is less in "what's the best way to train for high performance regardless of cost", more in "what can individual trainees do to make their workouts better, at a manageable cost".

OK im sold will have to get the manual :) and consider from there And No Bill, respects to you, you never claimed this as the only way to go!! I just think what you have to say as to be given consideration, specially as i get older and that 130kilo resting across the top my spine isnt going up in weight n seems to be feeling heavier each workout lol!!   • If you're afraid of HIT hell, you really don't want to see what I have to say about squats;) but maybe you did if you already went to the Conditioning Research board.

    A free video, an excerpt, now you want sample workouts too? That's what the manual is for. Besides, I didn't say this is the only way to go; different tools, that's all.

  • OMG Bll I'm still waiting for U'r MEA squat video n u put up this!!! I'm intrigued by this thought provoking video and comments on 'conditioning research' blog!! I'm 52this year vary much into HIT protocol [HD n Darden 25years] as foundation of trainning and a martial artist!! Know what u mean about 'PROGRESSING' but is this the way to go Bill - bosu/swiss balls n bodyblades- if im to condem myself to HIT hell . i need more info Bill, how about a sample workout?
