BTW, there's a lot of final letters that are not pronounced in french, like the "z" of "nez", or the "ent" of "étaient". You should say "était", not "étaient". And we don't say "double V C" for "toilet" but "toilettes" ^^.

I just do not get why English speakers consider pronunciation of French optional, they would never tolerate this attitude towards their own language from English learners. Its not that you speak with a heavy accent, that would be fine, its that you speak as though you do not care whether you are speaking even remotely the correct syllables and sounds.
