I dunno? This is kind of an unfair match unless you know the Mazda is heavily modified. I can see racing once to find out, but to race several times with a car that has much less horsepower is silly to me. Stock, the Cobra comes with about 150 more horses. That's like a regular Mustang GT stalking a Toyota Prius. To me it's just stupid. Race once and move on. It's outmatched. A Supra or Vr4 is a better match if you're running nearly stock. I'm a Supercharged GT owner, but this is a stupid race.

I will say this: My very first day at a track (1/8th) I ran against a 94-95 5.0 Cobra with a vortech @ 10lbs and full bolt ons. He ran a 9.4 to my 8.6 -Intake downpipe and exhaust hooptie Rx7 (my old one). I launched at 2200 rpm with no burnout (street tires, whats the point) Later on I decided to sell the 15" subwoofer out of it and it dropped me into 8.2s ranging from 85-92mph. I know these cars are BOTH slow. You can just tell.

I own two C5 corvettes(one with a supercharger) and a 93' Rx7. The Rx7 physically fits me better, and is about 400 lbs lighter than a regular C5 coupe. With a bone stock LS1 performance wise, an FD is on par or a little bit faster than c5 z06.

Believe it or not...the gameboys can be reprogrammed to tune rx-7's. Don't know how he did it, but it worked!
