  • I spoke to Rob after one of their early concerts, all round good guy.

  • He did struggle though< to be fair.

  • Bwahaha the lead singer is totally dressed like Edina Monsoon here XD

I always thought he looked al ittle like Saffy, so its odd X3

    Thanx fer uploading this!! <3

  • Poor Bob cant keep up stompin is feet haha HUP!

  • Fuck you. His name was ROB, and I was married to him. He was a drummer and a bass player and his feet were keeping the beat just fine. He had Gold and Platinum records. And what have you done with your life, Mr. Bigtime Anal Retentive Critic?

  • kingswinford still misses the bass thing

  • Thank you for that, on his behalf! :)

  • hi there indio156 i worked with rob back in the 80s as part time gardeners i canstill see him know in is ripped black jeans.we talked about metal and bikes good bloke R.I.P

  • motorheadave, he liked you, I know that. You knew him before he even had dreads! Ha! Keep those memories close, because whenever you think of him, he is alive. When I think of him and smile (didn't he have the best sense of humor?!), I just feel him around me smiling too...

  • It took him a long time to lose that arrogance too. Granted, they knew that they were good and were going places but it's still no excuse.

  • get over yourself, miles is a top guy and i would hope rob was not as immature as you are ,and realise that fall outs happen, especially among musicians. holding on to annimosity gives ya cancer.

  • maybe im being harsh on you (indio156)i am only defending someone ive found to be a really nice guy,tho ive only met him a couple of times and in more recent years,so maybe not the same guy rob knew. i understand how loyalty to loved ones works and i dont wanna be an arse,i wish you well and i hope your memories make you smile.

  • #GROOVY#

  • God, this brings me back - 8 legged groove machine was the soundtrack to my first year in college .... ah well, time moves on, sadly.

  • can anybody remember a b side called ashley in the noose?what 12 inch was it on?any info please.

  • Astley

THE WONDER STUFF It's Yer Money I'm After Baby (1988 UK Polydor 4-track 12" vinyl single, also including Astley In The Noose, Ooh She Said and Rave From The Grave, with full colour picture sleeve)

google is YOUR frien' if you ask it nicely.

  • thanks for the info and sorry for the bad spelling.

  • shame they didnt get on!they wer so underated an 1 of best live bands ever! RIP ROB

  • I always been amused by the use of Morris dancers early in this. :p

  • still looking for "a wish away"

  • Hey, gotta love the Poppies shirt in the video, truly reminiscent of almost any gig in the early nineties...

  • fuckin brill vid,met Miles a few months ago & blagged i was the little kid pulling faces & e fuckin shit haha.

  • AABINVESTIGATIONS contacted me, and sent me an email which I missed out on b/c I was out of the country. WRITE ME AGAIN! He said he used to work on the crew with my husband, The Bass Thing. Today is his death day. Happy Death Day, Rob. You are loved, and always remembered...

  • The eight legged groove machine is the only stuffies album that counts

  • I hear "ace of spades" was played at his funeral..cool guy..

  • who's funeral? The Bass Thing? Me and LilEvie156 are the same person.Rob Jones was my husband & died in NYC.I had him creamated. They had a memorial in UK, but the urn they presented was empty.Sum of his ashes are in the Sahara desert,Tammy Wynettes garden,Hudson River,PA,New Orleans, but none are in UK.He hated England,Miles, the band,& the UK.

  • In time Rob would have forgiven Miles his shortcomings as i am sure Rob would have superceeded his time in the Wonderstuff great things were about to happen !I know you know that! But life is so short we dont know when everything will close only we know it's all worthwhile while we're here, and yes Rob loves being remembered

  • 34 now!! Where did my hair go?? Stuffies always on the ipod. Must say though, after the Bass Thang left there's only a few to choose from. Top post!!

  • That band was nothing after Rob, The Bass Thing left. He had all the charisma, and he wrote half the songs, in separate rooms, with Miles. Miles was jealous cuz Rob had all the stage presence. I was Robs second wife. I am so happy you acknowleged him. His spirit loves that!

  • I wish i still had my "eleven appaling promo's" video, surely somebody is going to make this available on dvd?It was a perfect marriage of honest band opinions on making promo's and the promo it self.Quality gold my friends

  • Yeah if you go on E-bay and look for the cheap seats DVD 12 appaling promo's is an extra bout 9.50. You prob already have this by now but anyway

  • good to see the bass thing again

  • I was married to Rob,The Bass Thing. His B-Day was Valentines Day.I met him through a guy I used to date who worked for the Clash.Miles was jealous of Rob, and treated him badly, so he left the band.He was a beautiful man. I am so happy you noticed how special he was!He would love that(and his spirit does!)

  • I had heard the jealousy story before, its sad really as they were a lot more creative with him on board

  • I saw a PWEI shirt. They do a nice version of 'Inside You'.

  • aaaahhhh smell that bloody gorgeous nostalgia!!!

  • miles and erica supporting the Mission at wolverhampton wulfren hall on May 18th.

  • saw them at the Commodore supporting "The Mission

The 'stuff were great, the Mission sucked

  • Met them at the Melody bar in New Brunswick Nj .. thanks to Matt Pinfield for bringing them there ... got my CD autgraphed from them .

  • a definite favorite save. had the opportunity to see these guys at the kennel club in san francisco around the time this song came out...memories...

  • I remember the Kennel Club! That was shortly after I met the Bass Thing & he left his wife & took me to CA on the road.We later married. He left the band cause Miles was jealous, like Johnny was jealous of Sid. The Kennel Club was a fun show!

  • love all the stuff they did around this time
