If Hexaleg reaches the ship before you've saved everyone, you should ring Wiki near the tentacles that hold the remaining pirates.

you have to wait until the squid dude puts the people near the ship, then you itemize them and then de-itemize them and they ar e regular.

I was doing so well on this level, and was about to get a tuna to put in the barrel so I could stun & kill it when GIANT TENTACLE OUT OF NOWHERE TO KILL ME

I had to use a Platinum Ticket for the first time the whole game because I mean come on it took a good amount of time to get there >:|
