Not to trash on any console, but it just bugs me when people call the PS3 and 360 the "HD" consoles, when they don't even actually have games with native resolutions of 720p. The max resolution in any game for either console is around 600p, which isn't much bigger than the Wii games having 480p/i. The games output at around 600p max, but then the hardware upscales it (in other words stretches it) to 720p or 1080p. The Wii U is technically the first HD game console (not counting PC).
@CutThroat192 actually its closer to around 680 i think? and upconverted to 720 or 1080. an upconverted 680 is a HUGE difference from 480. i mean you do have eyes dont you? anybody can see theres a big difference, not to mention the amount of detail on the hd consoles. i mean, even at 600 you do need an hdtv
@rxl209 Only 200 pixels, which, in this situation, is relatively small. Yeah, geomtric detail is WAY higher, and the textures are much better. My point was that they still don't technically output 720p, which is the lowest resolution considered to be "HD".
And yes, I can see that a screen capable of a resolution higher than 480p is necessary for 600p, hence 480 < 680. It's just annoying when they claim to output in full 1080p, when that's not entirely true. Hopefully, their successors will.
Ok I'm done lol, I will say though I'm currently working on designs for a beat-em-up game- with some people,based on the graphic novel I've been working on. I'd like to see it for all consoles- including PC ^_^

Graphically it looks better than Wii, and its in HD sweet gonna be pretty awesome and fun running Mario and Zelda on that tech, with my 3D TV... I'm not seeing anything better than 360 or especially PS3, like some were claiming. I expect later games (its always later games), to look almost or just as good (maybe) as 360, and close to now current games of the PS3- but by then we'll be looking at 720, and seeing stuff about overpriced PS4 lol
Secondly Nintendo, is what made me want to become a game designer- then Playstation really confirmed that for me in the mid 90's (best era of gaming in my opinion ^_^ such great memories). the graphics card in the wii u are direct x 10-11 vs the direct x 9 of the 360 or ps3... look up the difference, the wii u's graphics will literally decimate the ps3 or 360's :p
