Does anyone have the version of the Palace Medley where it was pandemonium? i mean she rocked the House! I have found the Palace Medley but not that one. This is nice though.
Isn't this the performance where she'd lost her movie contract and she and her husband took all their own money and rented the once great palace theater in New York? It it is this was a do-or-die performance for them so she brought everything she had to it and everybody in show biz was there. Afterwards I saw an interview with Lucille Ball (a tough show biz pro) who gushed like a school girl. Pretty fascinating. I'm a fan.
I saw "West Side Story" in the Palace in 2009. I had a seat in the front row but eventually went up the balcony. It was hard to experience the show sitting so close. It was neat to be in the same theater where Judy did her historic performances.
Would you all believe i WAS THERE...yes, i am a bit ancient..but still love Judy..it was here closing night when my brother and i went to see her...She made her entrance from the rear of the theatre...and she accepted a rose my brother offered her...We were on the aisle but in second last row. She and Liza were great doing numbers from CABERET...
Judy's Palace medley is spine tingling. Especially at 5:45 when after she takes us on this amazing roller coaster, slows it down so incredibley, and she tells us her story also every other Vaudevillian's dream. She exudes humility & high respect but doesn't let us off the roller coaster just yet because the ride isn't over yet. She "wows" us til the end.
Well done Nimbusmiranda! Great footage and the way it flows with the song is amazing! I thank you for keeping Judy alive for the rest of us! Happy Thanksgiving!
Her voice was at its best. Just listen to her Platinum voice. If you dont believe in GOD then this will change your mind because who else could bless this Woman's voice.?
The pictures that are shown with this song are beautiful...They really seem to show that not all of Judy's life was tragic. In many of them, she seems so genuinely happy. Especially those showing her with her children. They also show that she seems to have had alot of fun in her life, as well. I guess this just shows that, as with all of us I'm sure, there are always good times and happiness mixed in with the bad moments in one's life...Whomever they may be... Thanks for posting this.
I love this. I had to leave my copy of this record behind when I moved and miss hearing it. I still sing all the words of this intro remembered from when I was a teen and belted it out in my car. Thanks so much for posting it. It brought back wonderful memories.
Thanks so much for this video. I was thinking about this medley just the other day and how I used to play it to death on the Garland Touch album. Wish I could have seen Judy sing it live. I got to see her final Palace show in 1967, but she didn't sing it. She was amazing anyway, even at that late stage.
I have always loved Judy Garland. Boy she was THE BIG NAME in entertainment from the 1950s and 60s. My parents saw her at The Palace in 1951 and this medley has become one of my all time favorites of show business. Judy was an amazing entertainer.

this is on many recordings i have it on many cds it became a staple after the first palace run she was the greatest woman to ever live i love her more than i could say
I agree with you, she really was the greatest woman ever to live and i as well love her more than i could say. Thanks for saying so. She illuminates my everyday and her presence in my life is so important. I love you Judy.
@Saulnierville118 it's included in a boxed set from the early 90's which i'm not sure if it's still in print or not called "judy garland the one and only", also on an album called "the london sessions" which is coincidentally the third disc from the aforementioned set... also there are other versions of the song, one from the album "miss show business" and one version recorded live at the palace theater... also it was performed on her tv show... though i have never seen or heard the latter...

I just saw West Side Story this past week at the Palace. It's quite small and intimate...would've been amazing to see Judy there.
