@aSimulatedHigh True. I am only a micro builder who can only produce so many a month (and pay rent while doing it). I never intended to become a factory of import commodities. (Just trying to create my vision of an instrument and the rest is history- so, I am just a player building these for a few friends) There are many film composers using these. (Recently, "The Black Swan"). If there is more of a "for fun" market that can justify my patent, then great. Could happen. Stay tuned .....
are those frets scalloped or is it my imagination? also how many frets? (though essentially it doesn't really matter, the way you go beyond the frets)
Yes, my personal instruments are scalloped. Not all I build are. 24 frets. The frets disengage when not pressed all the way down;effectively like slide guitar with fingertips when bowed.
I like this sound much better than the full bowed guitar. This clip sounds exactly like a half violin, half guitar. Winey crying notes and watery guitar notes, if you get my drift.

i can imagine someone buying a guitar just to play it and have fun
with the price tags on these, i can only imagine that the people that do movie scores and what not would use these

You can. Does not sound as good as Flatwounds which are similar to Cello Strings.
