Though I have to say, I like the G1 designs a lot better than the new ones, despite all those bows and whatnot.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but I think the G4 design makes them look a tad retarded. The style is awfully simplistic, especially on the face, and the eyes are so huge that they can't possibly fit a brain in their craniums.

@aryllia There's a reason the style is so much more simplistic, the show is animated in flash, as opposed to the G1 episodes/movies which were animated using traditional cell-based frame-by-frame animation.

When i was younger the g3 ones had just come out and i loved them, hence why i love Friendship is Magic now. I love the way they've stopped them being pretty and pink and are now hyper with almost afros or messy-maned and tomboyish. I can also tell y'all that the pony we know as Berry Punch is the FiM adaption of g3 Sweetberry.

The spanish dub made them annoying...I remember that horrible voices they did, always like stuttering or something, which was supposed to be a horse talking but it sounded like an old lady having a leg cramp. So, yes, IT WAS HORRIBLE.

I have two complaints for the G1 Ponies. My 1st complaint with the G1 ponies is that there was no leader/main character for kids to look up to. Transformers had Optimus Prime, GI Joe had Duke, and He-man had He-man. But the ponies had no one, just some human girl. We don't care about the humans, we only care about the titled characters (Fuck you Michael Bay). My other complaint of G1 is that they killed Tirek in the first episode. What the hell? Tirek was awesome. Why did they kill him?

My biggest qualm with the previous generations of ponies really lies in the voice acting.. where everyponytawkslikedis.

I also just think the animation of g4 (referring to the actual movement of the characters) is far more interesting then the 80's style animation, which (myself being a product of the 90's) could just be a personal bias... but I feel current ponies are entirely more expressive in their movements.

So. That's why I prefer fim. :)
