  • "Whosoever believeth" means "the one believing" in both Greek and English. It is in the present tense. It follows that John 3:16 teaches the assurance and eternal security of the BELIEVER, not the promise of eternal salvation to all of humanity on the condition of faith. This is the simple reality of the grammar involved, despite the manifold ways that this passage has been employed as support for the well-meant offer.

  • Who Would Dislike This Look In The King James Version It's There. Thumbs Up If You Agree

  • WONDERFUL VIDEO =D I LOVE YOU, GOD

  • the context around the verse, you would find that the answer is right before your lying eyes - you just don't want to see it, because it conflicts with how your evil, dark hearts think God ought to be! The context is "the world of believers" (whether they are Jews or Gentiles). Those are the people God loves. Those are the people for whom Jesus died. Jesus didn't come to condemn those people - He came to save them. But everyone else is already condemned, because they don't believe.

  • The so-called Christians today are far too simple-minded and lazy to look into the matter. So we'll do it for you: the word translated "world" in John 3:16 is the Greek word "kosmos." The word never means "every individual of mankind who ever lived." In fact, the word has at least seven different meanings in the scripture, depending on the context in which it's used. It can mean Gentiles (as opposed to Jews); the world of believers; the world of unbelievers; the physical creation; etc.

  • Every so-called Christian in the world will cite John 3:16 as proof that God loves everyone. They don't have a clue what the verse means, and, under the guidance of the lying false prophets who make up the "Christian" landscape, twist it to mean what they want it to mean. We call that "wresting the scripture unto your own destruction." 2 Peter 3:16.

It seems that if you're going to base an entire lying theology on one part of a verse, you would at least know what the verse means.

  • My hat is off to you believers. In spite of all evidence to the contrary you still believe in the tooth fairy.

I daresay most of you dislike Jews yet you worship a dead Jew. All part of the wonderful mystery, I suppose.

  • Knowing the Bible by heart doesn't make a Christian.. there are men who head the church who abuse their power and abuse little children.. but God isn't at fault for that.. that's men in our own sinful nature.. but what makes a Christian is dying to ourselves and our sinful urges and desires, taking up our cross everyday and TRYING to lead a life like Jesus lead.. I'm human and I will mess up, but I'm happy, cuz there is now no condemnation.. Christ is my savior, not a preacher or a priest :)

  • 1 Peter 1:3b According to his great mercy,he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.....

  • Jesus is the only way to salvation! He is the way,the truth and the life(John 14:6).There is no other.

  • In The Name of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

18:(110) Say: "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your God is one God: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.

  • Read Psalm 2. The nations are angry at God!

  • @TheLoveOfLucifer

"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44

find Truth and you will find true Love

  • You are not misunderstood. Only mistaken.

  • @TheLoveOfLucifer you mean love of self comes from the devil. BTW jesus kicked his ass at Calvery

  • Why doesn't Jn 3:16 use the word 'hell' instead of 'perishing'. Is the Christian doctrine faulty?

  • john 3:16 is a wonderful statement, however, because of its specific context this scripture is abused and commonly misunderstood as "the ones perishing" is being applied to "the world" in which this verse isn't speaking at all. clearly there is a difference between those "perishing" and those having "eternal life"

  • @FreedomFighterReturn

you must have all the answers huh...

  • @FreedomFighterReturn I believe the "clots of blood" or 'thick blood" was revealed in in the Quran in sura 96:1-5

  • @FreedomFighterReturn It is similar to the Quran which says man was created from clots of blood.

  • @FreedomFighterReturn I don't agree with the various scriptures used by apologists for a trinity. The blood and water actually represent the spirit or life as other scriptures say 'life is in the blood' and then we have 'living water' jn 4:10

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Hebrews 11 Faith is the evidence of things not seen (the spirit) and Joel 2:28/Acts 2:17 "In the last days I will pour out my spirit on all flesh"

  • @FreedomFighterReturn

As is written in Jeremiah 17:9 The heart of man is deceitfully wicked. John 7:17 If any man's will is to do His will then he shall know if the teaching is from God......

This is what Jesus said about his own Hebrew religious leaders. The same is true about all religions.

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Power corrupts. That is true of any religion or political organisation.

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Actually Luke (the Greek doctor) begins by saying that what he writes is from eyewitness accounts and admitting that he was not a disciple himself.

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Jesus claimed to be the begotten Son of God in (jn 3:16) This does contradict Christian teaching because it means that Adam was the first son of God (1 Cor 15:45)

  • @FreedomFighterReturn The man created out of dust will return to dust but those born of the spirit are forever.

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Adam had a father that is his creator god and so did Jesus have god as His father. The difference is Adam was created but Jesus was born. 1Cor 15:45

  • @FreedomFighterReturn Jesus claims to be the 'begotten' Son of God. Is this because Adam was the first 'created' son of god?

In 1Cor 15:45 Jesus is the second Adam which means the second Son of God. This contradicts a major doctrine. Does that mean that Christians can't read or is it that we just don't think for ourselves?

  • Because of the fall of mankind Jesus had to die on the cross for us so we could have our salvation restored. Atheism never makes sense because they never come up with good arguments. God bless.

  • @2God4ever If we look at the symbolism of blood and water on the day of atonement ceremony then we realise it represents the Spirit (eternal life) which Christ came to give. Jn 7:39

  • No it's Atheists who are delusional. yes obviously he can but he doesn't want to(look it up in the dictionary it's called free will) if he'd wanted to, you wouldn't be alive now would you? so he can't love something he created? An artist can't love their own art? Yes he's all knowing he knew what would happen but chose to let it happen anyways because he loves his creation. He even is loving enough to put up with all the insults people like you throw at him.

  • Truly,John 3:16 shows the awesome love of our God,and the importance of believing in Jesus! It also shows who Jesus really is! It is one scripture that shows Jesus calling Himself God!

  • Love this rendition of John 3:16-pretty cool!

  • These heaven and hell places are both really scary. This religion is very scary in its doctrines. I am happy to be out of it...

  • And John 3:16 being the crucial part of Hearing & Believing. But does believing John 3:16 enough to save you? After all, even Satan & the demons believe John 3:16. They believe Jesus is the Son of God and tremble, James 2:19.

But there's more. Read the 5 steps to salvation below. And genuinely, sincerely(no lip service, half-hearted confession, repentance & baptism), it must be done with your whole heart.

  • @Bosingr The Romans road of salvation, brother! That is the best explanation of salvation.

  • Funny how some ppl know so little about the bible, yet they want to tell me not to believe...Nothing Can Separate Me From The LOVE of Jesus!!!

  • @cynni16 ha

  • PRAISE THE LORD!!!! THANKYOU GOD!!

  • beenie91 - Thanks for the quick response. 9 months? Truth is, I really don't get on youtube that much.

Please help me understand your overall position... Are you saying ONLY Israel can be saved?

  • John 17 - read the whole passage. Verse 9 is a specific portion of Jesus' prayer for His 12 disciples, who would go to lead the church in its infancy. Especially read verses 25-26

Matt 15:21-28; again read the whole passage, He saves the Caananite woman.

    Whosoever means whosoever, even you

  • John 3 16 isnt in any original manuscripts. It was removed from the bible in 1951 (rsv) but they replaced it in 1971. Dont believe me than go get an rsv bible from that time and youll see.

  • So the 1 version remade in the 50's, then remade again in the 70's is the one you trust above all others?? Do you pick and choose the version that's "right" on all passages, or just this one? How about Acts 4:12? Is this one okay?

  • he gave his only begotten son? what is begotten ? read gen. chapt 6 verse 4 about the other sons of god

  • Jesus Saves!

    RKF

  • The salvation story makes no sense.

  • What exactly makes no sense about? Do you need more info? Let me know and I can try to help with that.

  • He didn't give His Son for you to continue in sin. "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." (Romans 8:13.) Don't take one passage of God's word out of context and think to discard the healing doctrine of true salvation. "Search the Scriptures". God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth; that shall he also reap. Sow to yourselves in righteousness and reap in mercy.

  • How exactly is posting 1 verse word for word with no commentary "taking it out of context", and your comment with 1 verse isn't?

Am I missing something? Were you talking to someone else?

    Please explain...

  • for where sin bounds grace abounds all the more - forgot where i saw this

jesus died for the sins of the whole world not just for those who believe the only sin that is unforgivable is blasphemy of the holy spirit which i believe is rejecting the spirit of god and of what christ did on the cross. we can not earn our salvation and you can not lose your salvation but the question is, do YOU REALLY BELIEVE. the will of god is to believe in the one who he has sent, jesus christ.

  • The whole salvation story makes no sense. You can look at it from every angle possible. Take the prophecies as an exempl.. Why would the salvation be announced 800 years before ? It`s like a circus coming to town and telling you we will be here in 800 years, be ready for the show. Does that make sense ?

  • What if I told you the cure for cancer was coming in 10 years? What if I told you Mss Transportation was coming in 6000 years? Do those make sense?

Jesus wasn't a circus, He was God's way of salvation for human race He loved, a human race that rejected Him. Jesus is the cure and Jesus is the only way, past or present.

  • Dear Jamm

This John 3:16 is not in my bible I use RSV amazing as there are so many different versions of the bible.

  • My favorite verse! I even wrote it on a letter I gave to Johnny Depp!

  • Jesus Is the Savior, he bleed so you would live, if you believe that he died for you, you will meet him in heaven with the father.

  • Amen thank you for posting God Bless

  • Life is short...

    Death is sure...

    Sin is the cause...

    Christ the cure!

  • --Life is short...

    Death is sure...

    Sin is the cause...

    Christ the cure!

I am not sure, I have NO evidence.

  • Philos2006 - Why do we die?

  • @r44cker AGREED!

  • you have a choice. God loves you you deside if you love him back

  • we are all of sin nature from birth..being this world is full of sin and so is the flesh..sin is and leads to death sin CANNOT BE IN THE DIRECT PRESENCE OF OUR GOD/CHRIST SAVIOR JESUS represents all goodness(holy) and life..AND IS OUR OLNY HOPE AS SINNERS..SO THAT WE WONT BE JUDGED .BLESSINGS ;-)

  • ...read this, and that it helps. I hope that you take your belief in God to the next level, and believe what He says about Himself, in the Bible. I didn't write the verse, i just made a simple video- but I am glad you found it, and I hope that you can find Jesus, the real Jesus, because if He can save me, a horrible sinner of a person, then I know He can and will save you, too, if you will just believe in HIM, you will not perish, but have everlasting LIFE! Feel free to ask me anything else.

  • When I was a Child I asked the Good lord Jesus to come into my heart and save me but is it possible even a saved person can backslide sometimes

  • ...When Jesus died on the cross, He payed the punishment for my sin, my imperfectness- that i will NEVER understand. But GOD LOVED ME so much that HE GAVE His only Son -Jesus- For this reason. The Bible says, that if I simply believe that Jesus is God, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again to life (conquering death forever) and BELIEVE THIS in my heart, then I WILL BE SAVED! I don't understand why a PERFECT GOD would love me that much, but He does. He loves you too. I hope you ...

  • jammincvc "When Jesus died on the cross--

The salvation story makes no sense, no matter from what angle you look at it. Tell me , all those generations between the " fall of Adam" and the "coming of Christ" did they deserve and need salvation ?

  • deserve? No. None of us have ever deserved salvation. That's why it is called the Grace of God & the Gift of God. Salvation through Jesus Christ is a gift fromGod you accept or refuse, but either way, it is nothing you or I deserve. It's kinda hard to explain w/ a few words, but the Bible explains that the people of the Old Testament looked FORWARD to a Messiah/SAvior, and we of the New Testament time look BACK to the MEssiah/Savior. Hope that helps a little

  • ...God sent His Son into the world, so that through Jesus, the world (you and me) might be saved. (2 Peter 3:9) The Problem is that we are not perfect and God IS perfect. A non-perfect sinner like me cannot live with a perfect God in a perfect Heaven. After I die, the only place for me to go is to hell, which was created for satan, not me (Matthew 25:41)- So no matter how much I love God, I cannot get myself into Heaven. That's why Jesus came- to pay the price for MY non-perfectness, sin...

  • to shadowsofnightmare;

Thanks for your question. There are many verses in the Bible that i have a hard time explaining or even understanding what they mean. Many verses even confuse me a little. I find that reading the entire passage around a verse or even the whole book, helps bring light to the verse. The next verse (3:17) says "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved" God doesn't want anyone to perish, that's why...

  • This is such a true statement.

Also if you wish to listen to a good christian rock band then type "pillar-frontline" into the search and listen to song. It speeks alot about the battle of god and the devil.
