  • nice

  • Probably the best short to come out of VFS that I've seen. Great job.

  • The acting and direction is, I'm going to leave now.

  • Beautiful!

  • The visuals were really impressive. nice lighting and production design.

  • Does anyone know when you are able to take a tour of the VFS campus? (Say... sometime this summer?)

  • @ramenlover932 While we don’t regularly schedule tours at VFS, we recommend that you speak to one of our Admissions Advisors, who would be happy to show you around VFS personally. For more information, just fill in the form at vfs(dot)com/speaktoanadvisor, and an advisor will contact you at your convenience. We also run summer intensives, which are a great way to REALLY see what VFS is about – from the inside. Find out more at vfs(dot)com/summer2010

  • @VancouverFilmSchool Why do you plug the school in this comment copy pasted in each video? a guy asks about a tour and you tell him no.

  • @YamiPoyo To clarify on the comment you are referring to, group tours are not something that we regularly schedule during the year. However, we do encourage the viewer and anyone who is interested in attending VFS to contact an Admissions Advisor who can arrange for a personal tour of the campus and facilities in Vancouver.

  • @VancouverFilmSchool I really liked this short film now I don't know which program to attend, if the VFX program or The film production program, damn you have quality in everything!!!! by the way despite the fact this film was great, this guy that plays the main character is a real good actor, what is his name? THX!

  • @NickRiviera10 If you need any more information on either of those two programs please let us know. It might help to think of what you would like to do in the industry. The actor who played the main character "Charlie" is Michael Brian. Thanks!

  • My cousin is amazing!!!!!!! love it

  • Wow this is good!

  • Why do I know Madison desjarlais

  • I havent seen this video in months

  • I Must say that was brilliant! Great work!

  • By Far my most favorite short flim from VFS :D KUDOS

  • oh my god that was amazing :D you did a great job

  • This was pretty much the most amazing thing I've watched on Youtube. It was haunting. And I can't help but notice how much Alice in Wonderland stuff is going around, but this is by far the best!

  • I really enjoyed Rick Skyler's Missing Alice. Great film with great music. Congratulations on the different awards you and your team have won at different festivals. Keep up the good work.

  • The doctor writes the words "The Red Queen - [something]"

I'm really curious for what he wrote.

  • this is one of the best vfs videos i've seen EVER. i usually stick with the classical animation, but this was really really spectacular.

  • thank you! means a lot to us!

  • This is really good.

    Did he kill her? ..

  • why was alice bleeding from the mouth?

  • very goood! try to finish the story

  • What a great video! Whimsical yet at times haunting and creepy. Perfect in time for Halloween!

  • the font is named parchment

  • this is really awkward...

  • Really nice job!

Can you post it with italian subs too?

  • Superb!!!

--I know many Alices will say: "It's not about that, silly", but... does anyone know the original name of that font in the opening credits? I've been looking for it for years (really).

  • I really like the music. Whoever did that really did an excellent job. Props to them!

  • thanks!

  • aw man! best video iv seen so far from vfs! love it!

  • I would like to see more of this story. what happen the bed room? Who is the real Alice? There a lot to this story we did not have the time to see.

  • that was awesome, i can't decide between VFS or Cap :( VFS always seems to make the better films, but Cap has the better program?

  • Isn't that the goal of any program - to produce the best results? We will be happy to describe the details of our film program with you. Feel free to contact one of our advisors on vfs(dot)com. We will be more than happy to provide you with everything you need before making your final decision. Good luck and thanks for the comment.

  • I went to Cap and it was a huge waste of time and money. The films made at VFS are much more focused and professional. Capilano isn't even organized enough to have their own channel. Maybe in a few years it'll be better but for now I would go with VFS.

  • wow thanks so much for the input!

  • Wonderful work,really!!!!

  • Good feel, in a creepy sort of way.

    Nice work.

  • Love it!

  • i think michael brian is going to be a great actor!! respect

  • I hate long opening credits.. it doesn't work on the youtube space.. it is just annoying..

  • this is going to my favorites! :D

  • great music :)

  • Or how about this,

Charlie could be Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, AKA Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland.

Perhaps this is about how he used literature to escape the real world and to invent his own world where fantasy and chaos rule. This film could be centered on the moment where Charles is forced to understand that the world he created, although a very comforting place to retreat from the difficulties of the real world, is not real and might as well be dead to anyone but him.

  • I like these kind of short films, make me think, it's the mystery cause I don't know all the details.

My theory is that he was sexually molested as a kid by his nanny (ew!) and that in turn traumatized him. As he grew up, he latched onto his favourite storybook character: Alice. When he was grown up, and one day at the beach, he saw a girl similar to his interpretation of Alice, and murdered her.

Then again, I could be completely off.

  • s9991, I don't think you can be off, this type of movie you are supposed to draw your own conclusions, and yours makes a lot of sense.

  • 7:57 - So she's really a person, dead, because he killed her? This is confusing

  • really awesome job on this ^_^

  • Felt for this one. Really well made. 5/5

  • So, he's the mad hatter then?

  • very well made, awesome storyline, i loved it!

  • It's really sweet. I like the lighting in each setting, from the brighter forest to the dankness of the psych ward? It really adds mood to the film.

  • amazin!! i just luv it :P

  • wonderful done but i dont get one thing who is charlie ?? is he Charles Blackman or someone from the book

(sorry i couldnt read it yet)

  • If I understood this, he was in his own fantasy world connected with his childhood stories?

  • I'd anticipated that it would be good, but it was better than that!

    Amazing job :)

  • That was...wow....

  • this Bunny stuffed animal is awesome :D

  • i'm not sure what to think. i don't know if i should like it or not. i mean, it's very well done, but...

  • Absolutely wonderful! ^_^

I'm showing this to ALL my friends!

Definitely the best VFS video I have ever seen!

  • Wow, such an awesome twist on the story. One of my favorite films by your students. Great work!
