The real goal behind the stimulus package is to create massive inflation, and thus, a devaluation of the American dollar. Why? To pay off the massive debt of $11 trillion. We can't possibly pay that debt with the current dollar value. If the dollar is worthless, then the $11 trillion is worthless. If it costs $500 for a loaf of bread, think how much you will be making per day. Pay massive taxes on massive inflated income and you have enough to pay the debt. But THEN what happens?

So they drove it in the ground about the economy was bad until people started to believe it... And then about that time things really did start to get bad thanks to the Housing Act started by none other than Jimmy friggin Carter. the worse president in history... putting poor people in houses is what got us in this crap

It wasn't the government that forced the mortgage companies to give loans to risky borrowers, it was market forces. Everyone wanted to buy into these CDO mortgage pools because Moodys/S&P claimed they were safe investments and they offered a much higher interest rate than govt bonds(thanks to Greenspan). This created huge demand for mortgages and hence huge payoffs to lenders who gave people mortages they coudnt afford. They didn't care because the risk was passed on to the CDO pools.

What am I making up? Most of the bad loans were made by mortgage banks, which aren't allowed to accept monetary deposits. These banks are not regulated by the FDIC and also do apply to the Community Reinvestment Act.

Our own politicians are giving American companies an unfair shake by allowing foreign companies to export goods to the U.S. and not levy an equal tax as they charge US for exporting goods to THEIR countries. IE: Japanese cars are cheaper in America and Japan, and American cars are more expensive in both, thanks to VAT's.

Government doesn't have any surplus to fund the stimulus, all they can do is to print the money. When they print, they create inflation. They can print enough money to let everyone have 100k, but the consequent inflation jacks up the living cost by probably 20 times or more. You get the 100k yet a bottle of milk may cost you 100$. You'd end up in deeper shit. Such stimulus is a disaster, get real!!!
