Umm...this video is an A+++++. Even though this stuff may seem basic, VERY few instructors teach it properly. I've been trying to learn these basic steps for over 1 year now. I've had to endure doing this stuff wrong, and trying to compensate for the extra steps and missing beats. This video lays it out in normal, simple terms, instead of rocket science complicated dancer's terminology. AWESOME!!!!
mattbreso1: I agree — it's easy to teach advanced moves because there is the assumption that advanced dancers already have a strong foundation in the basics and proper technique (which isn't always the case). But it takes a really good instructor to teach the basics correctly. Most just skim over it, even though it's the foundation for everything else. If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend taking Edie's Bootcamp at the Seattle Salsa Congress. She's an amazing instructor.
Hey, what happened? Hope you're still alive cause you're the best salsa teacher by far on youtube. What do I have to do to help get lesson 4 out on the net? lemme know.
I think your videos are great! The only thing I would change about them is maintaining your slot position. By not doing so it makes it way harder to follow because, for those of us that do maintain a slot, we never quite understand where our partners are supposed to end up when following your video. Just a thought! Keep up the great work though!
Dude keep it up.. ..great stuff good pace... awesome

Nice vid. It's great that you are teaching social dancing. Your lessons translate directly to the floor with no additives. :)
Is the TV in the background running showing some mediacentre software? Looks like MythTv.
