Yes and no, and I worked about 30 hours a week, around 6 hours a day. But my experience is 4 years out of date. Current economic woes make this a different game.
So age requirement, yes in the sense that they preferred white men between 24 and 28 that had a bachelors degree and no teaching experience. No in the sense They'll hire older and younger if they get the right feel from you.
I know some people here from Africa who teach English, and by all accounts the students take to them. The Japanese will take to you regardless of the colour of the skin you have. They will perhaps NOT take to you if you have the wrong attitude. Nothing to do with skin colour. Don`t even think about that question again. If you are fun and friendly, they will absolutely take to you. The content of your character, not the colour of your skin, that`s what the Japanese care about.
The Japanese are such an insulated people that they rely heavily on the stereotypes that they have developed or embraced. However they are more willing to look past their stereotypes and accept an individual than the average American, in my experience.... They'll still probably ask about your penis size though. what are the cost of living there, is the pay more than enough to cover the expenses and save money and have money to spend in Japan? How hectic are the work hours? do they work you 16 hours a day 7 days a week? How would you think that they will take to a fluent bilingual hispanic male in Spanish and English. The Latin countries are ever so triving so I guess marketing spanish as a need shouldnt be that hard. I could probably make a living in the states taching it but Japan seems more appealing
