I see that she worked at KING 5 as well as KOMO-TV4, which tells me that this bumbling isn't just a one-time thing, nervousness or a "bad day." To examine this logically, maybe an inability to think on her feet coupled with an inherent lack of preparation. She may have just been fed wrong info about the Quizno's employee. Such is often the case w/a "breaking story," it's happening at that moment, negating any "prep" time. But being able to think on your feet is a MUST in the broadcast biz.

Race has nothing to do with her incompetence. Some people are hired at broadcast stations based not on qualifications, but on ethnicity because a federal agency called the "EEOC" mandates it. Not saying aff action got Connie her job at KOMO, but I don't know of a major market news director who'd hire someone with this pattern of ineptitude. I was in the broadcast biz for over 20 years, and saw stuff like this over and over. One manager said "I need a black woman" to meet EEOC requirements.
