Hi. As an auto glass installer from years ago and having the "pleasure" of working with one of these windshields ,I remember the good installations. 35mins when Everything fit. Mind you that was the quickest. It usually went from 1- 1 1/2 hrs. When the aftermarket started producing it ,well I stopped looking forward to seeing an MGB,knowing it would be hours and still not fit proper.Even cracked a few. My fellow installers also had nightmares. This video has released me from all doubt Thanks MOSS
@huddur My glass installer who did my B could not thank me enough for getting this glass for them! Being in business when these cars were new, they knew what the originals were like..and how horrific the aftermarket ones are now. They were thrilled at how this windscreen fit.
Of course now.. we have people too cheap to pay the premium for this product.. but also complain about the crappy other options. You can't win!
I just had the Moss triplex glass installed in my 80 B.
First - it fit - GREAT. The glass shop couldn't thank me enough for providing it to them
Second - it is virtually distortion free. This is especially noticable on the curves on either end. Each of the previous windscreens installed on my car had bad distortion on the curves. This unit DOES NOT (at least the one I received)
3) buy the 'modified corners'
This unit IS more expensive than the other aftermarket ones.
Phanttomracer, I bet you're glad to pay the extra expense. In the long run you know its cheaper. I'm watching this video and I can allmost see the perfection in the glass and the moulds they show just gives me a good feeling. The distortion you don't see shows its made proper. When I was installing it used to bug the hell out me knowing the distortion was there.Notice how your car looks more "beautiful" without the distortion, distorting the looks of the car where it meets the body. Enjoy!
The windscreen is well worth the price as I mentioned.. Best part is I convinced the insurance company to pay for it. Even if they didn't I would still pay for it. If you have insurance, and they will pay for it.. push for the triplex.
@huddur I would have been happy to pay extra.. the insurance picked up the entire tab, parts and labor! After seeing it in the car. I can never go back to the distorted, ill fitting, aftermarket units
@phanttomracer The original aftermarket replacement no. was HT160 later modified to HT 645 ( this was an HT160 with the corners cut down to give better clearance for the corner brackets. I used to order a 160 and cut the corners down myself ) Loved fitting these glasses, a good challenge for a glass installer.

Very informative ... would like to see Moss do a video walk-through on the installation. The job looks pretty intimidating on paper!

Thanks for the positive comments. I will pass them along to our product sourcing department that spent quite a bit of time tracking these down.
