And finally, my 250 hp, 900 kg/1986 lb Toyota Corolla GT-i 16 with a turbocharged, intercooled, and substantially improved 4A-GZE (supercharger removed) will do 0-200 gps in up to 15 seconds, despite FWD (6-speed + LSD). :-) Can't wait till it's done... Poor EVOs and STis... I can already see the faces of the macho "road rally wannabe" drivers... :-)))))))))))))
Hi. What do you mean? I have already done precisely that with my first car years ago. It didn't have the acceleration, but once it got up to speed, going fast around corners (fast or slow) was no problem due to the harder and lowered suspension. Corner handling has either nothing to do with car weight or is better with lower weight, of course (due to better braking, acceleration, and lower COG). I have seen 120 hp NA cars weighing 800 kg beating stock EVOs.
Actually, I once had an unwanted road "race" with that first weak car. 900 kg / 72 ps / 100 Nm / 1.3 NA against 1513 kg / 150 ps / 200 Nm / 1.8 Turbo. The guy was pushing like mad - at the beginning of every straight, he simply sped away due to the relatively superior power. BUT in corners, I got back to him due to the lower weight and superior cornering. This lasted for about 20 kilometers / 13 miles of non-straight road. Then he stopped and accused me of endangering him... :-)
But while accusing me, he didn't mention the fact that the race began because I was driving fast, he was driving slow, and when I was overtaking him, he started accelerating, putting me in direct danger of a head on crash. But that's always the case with pussies - first they do a bad thing and then they accuse you of doing a bad thing. He could have quit the "race" by simply slowing down at any time... He also lectured me how his daughter also finds drivers dangerous. Well, if she is like him...
Of course a little factor could be that I have beaten several lap records within 1 to 5 ten minute stints (so in less than an hour in most cases) on several karting tracks, including one racing karting track. Sometimes, the owners / managers simply didn't believe me that I had no "real" racing experience - just "unrealistic" computer simulations (1000+ world records there). And most of that karting was done in June/July 2004, sitting in a rental kart for the first time ever in mid-May 2004.
Of course that computer racing is "unrealistic" to a certain degree, but it definitely teaches you very well about timing (braking, steering, acceleration) and the general physical concept of vehicles. It isn't the same as reality, of course, but helps a LOT (for those, who take it seriously and try to learn as much as possible within the inevitable limitations of simulation). I bet you can learn as much in 1 year of intense everyday computer racing as in 5 years of ocassional real racing.
Yep, you'll definitely have an edge over people, who don't do any computer or real driving at that age. When I was 22 (in 1998) and fought for world records in The Need For Speed Special Edition, my toughest adversary among the hundreds of guys from all over the world was a 14 year old Canadian. He was just brilliant... That's how I learnt that age etc. doesn't have to mean a thing, if experience and talent are involved. He had 9 years of experience back then already.
@m1rchegfn Get yourself a Logitech G25, PS3 or Xbox 360 or a new PC and buy yourself Gran Turismo 5 Prologue / Forza 3 / rFactor or NFS Shift for graphics.
audia4crazy: An N/A Supra (MKIII or MKIV) does not have 300 hp... And the R32 is about the same or LOWER weight... And a Supra has better refinement than the R32. Plus the Supra is RWD, not AWD - less losses... The MKIV Supra pulls 0.98 lateral g. How much do you think an R32 pulls? Definitely NOT more.

R32's are so shite. 100-200 in 20 seconds WTF!
Stock Evo's do 100-200 in 6 seconds!
revcom301 3 years ago
90-210 in 19 seconds, also, the engine is less powerful than an Evo and it's heavier.

And stock Evo's does NOT 100-200 in 6 seconds.

yes, true, but a supra has 300hp while this has only 250hp, plus, the R32 is heavier. I can assure u tht r32 has better refinement than the supra.
