This was actually a great Ageia PhysX demo showing off hair, cloth and liquid PhysX.

@elliottad Heavy Rain uses Havok, not PhysX. And even if it used PhysX, there would be no GPU acceleration, since PhysX is a CUDA application and RSX doesn't support CUDA.

Also, NVIDIA bought Ageia years ago. That company no longer exists.

@NewLynxChannel Let me clarify by saying once upon a time, games using the PhysX engine didn't need all that CUDA jazz. PhysX is still multi-platform, you just don't get the extra hardware PhysX that you get in PC games.

Secondly they used it for the demo only when Quantic Dream were still thinking of making Heavy Rain for PC, before deciding to make it PS3 exclusive. The fact that Ageia went to Nvidia also may have factored in that decision, not to mention piracy.

yes, this was the casting, the actress later got the part of Lauren Winter.... I love the fact that the voice actors are also models for the characters, so yeah, basically this is what the French actress looks like :) Sam Douglas played and voiced Scott Shelby and his character looks EXACTLY like him :D

lol this is just a tech demo segamon (released years ago). The real game is nothing like this. You actually control your character and move them throughout the 3d environment.

Plus the character models look a good deal better then the one in this demo.

The Shenmue character demos on the Passport disc were originally created in late 1998 (shown at game shows) and then released with the game in 2000. It is still almost 10 years older than this demo.

I hope that they include this demo with the game (like what Sega did with Shenmue). Otherwise there would have been absolutely no point in creating them (other than PR of course).

Since this is a tech demo, they should have made it look better than the game...

the movie kinda gameplay leave developer lots of rooms to make a extreme graphic. but downside to that, this game doesn't leave player to move a lot on free will. coz real time gameplay has different kinda graphic programming. just imagine u r playing a cutscene instead of gameplay. cutscenes r always pretty.
