What peace and joy just watching this.Absolute beauty and balance. Fish and plants in perfect harmony. Pure Art! This will motivate my husband and I to labour on our new 50L South American biotype tank started Jan.14th. We've got 10 plants so far and this week we'll pick up 2 Valisneria "natans" and 3 dwarf cyclids "borelli" to complete our family of 3 oto, 2 corydoras paleato and 2 "albina", and 5 Black Tetra. If I could only download this to watch it more often. Thank you so much for sharing.

Yeah I'm not complaining it's most said 50liters / discus, here you would need 90Gallon, these fish can reach 20cm , you got a very well looking tank

That is a beautiful tank you have set up! 180L = approx 47 US Gallons, so as far as over-crowding goes I would have to disagree with drashfield. It's might be close, but with the plants and their inherent aeration and nitrate/nitrate removal, I'd say it's good! Great job, it really looks fantastic! Very peaceful!

I think 180 L too small for all those discus because each discus needs 80 L .

@mustkass So, acording to your calculations, if one wants, let's say, 10 discus, then one needs a 800 l tank??! All these discus/litre formulas are nonsesne...trust me. If you read more about this fish you will find that it is not the volume of water, but the quality that maters - biological filtering, constant water parameters and so on. Discus are bank fish, by the way...the more they are, the better and safer they feel. Do my fish look stressed in any way ...? :)

Fundalul meu este un pic mai ciudat, in sensul ca m-am hotarat sa pun fundal dupa ce acvariul era setat si plin cu apa si a trebuit sa gasesc o solutie care sa nu implice miscarea lui. In concluzie am pus pe spate o bucata de PFL (lucrez in domeniul mobilierului si era cel mai la indemana)>Sfatul meu este ca cel ami bine iese cu autocolant....si din experienta cred ca negru este cel mai bun pt un acvariu plantat. Bafta!

Thanks! I really don't remember what substrate i have in there (it might be JBL) but I am sure i have JBL 7 balls in it. I also fertilize with macro and micro in the water column. Regarsd!

im going to set up a planted tank , like yours ( inspired by your tank ) with a bigger carpet surface area . i might put in a few barbs , harlequin rasboras , ottos , and a few dwarf and pearl gouramis . do you think its okay? I might not add the discus because its hard to care for their needs . And could you tell me the plants your using?
