lawilson200-Those upright logs are fossilizingin the mud at the bottom of the lake in layers of mud. This proves fossilization happens naturally in short periods of time. There's also the sedimentary layers that were deposited by the ensuing flood - also in a short period of time (evolutionists believe in layers forming over millions of years). Have you heard of the "limestone cowboy"? When you hear about these reports you should check them out to see if they're true.
Gee, I was standing on the shores of Spirit Lake only a week ago. The trees floating in the lake look the same to me as they did the first time I looked at them 25 years ago. The trees in Spirit Lake is the same.

And HOW is Mount St Helens "is a study in creationism?" Can you point me to the peer review journals? Having spent 25 years studying MSH, I have yet to see any "evidence" of how MSH is a "study in creationism!"

lawilson200-Those upright logs are fossilizingin the mud at the bottom of the lake in layers of mud. This proves fossilization happens naturally in short periods of time. There's also the sedimentary layers that were deposited by the ensuing flood - also in a short period of time (evolutionists believe in layers forming over millions of years). Have you heard of the "limestone cowboy"? When you hear about these reports you should check them out to see if they're true.

Gee, I was standing on the shores of Spirit Lake only a week ago. The trees floating in the lake look the same to me as they did the first time I looked at them 25 years ago. The problem with YECers, you never actually visit Mount St Helens to find out what is truth and the lies passed along by people working at ICR!

FYI-There is a little industry here in the Pacific Northwest that trolls the bottoms of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers for logs that were transported down river more than a century ago. With old growth trees now scarce, the company can fetch a high price for the trees they find. Cold water acts as a good preservative, but it doesn't lead to "fossilization." The trees in Spirit Lake is the same.

thrufaithalone-What I find truly sad about YEC representations of the 1980 eruption, the gloss over the actual lessons and discoveries made during and since that event. Volcanoes are wonderful tools of nature, but they can be dangerous. By making up "discoveries" from Mount St Helens and ignoring the mountain's power, YECers are really doing the public a major disservice.

It is a waste of time to try and disagree with a delusional creationist. One should never agree with a delusion either. Seems like a dichotomy but you should stand your ground and neither affirm nor deny what is being said and done. Instead, as noted elsewhere, try to distract them with something different and get their attention elsewhere. Food is an excellent distraction
