Duane was not on this album unreleased second). A shame.
There is actually a lot of bootleg D&D stuff, from concerts to unreleased/outtakes/alternate takes.
This song sounds like it was always intended to be an instrumental the way the guitar plays the lead. No room for vocals. I love the song, and this take features a fiery Clapton.
After hearing the version that was released on the "Crossroads" anthology, it was pretty cool to hear this slightly crustier, more raw version. Me loves the alternate takes! :-) Thanks PPOTTER2000.
This is from the April/May 1971 sessions for the second Derek and The Dominoes album that was never finished, as the band broke up during the recording. Duane was on tour with the ABB at the time and didn't take part in the sessions. This will be included in the Deluxe Edtion two disc set that is being released April 26th, 2011.
This album has sessions for the abortive second album, lives and alternate tracks. Allman does not participate in all the songs But I don't know exactly where he is not involved. And now that you mention in this song seems that there is only one guitar, so he is not involved in it. Thanks. CLAPTON IS GOD

This is EC playing. You can't get any closer to the original than that. Clapton is God!

Are you sure Allman played on this? Wasn't it part of the sessions for the abortive 2nd studio album????
