There's something lovely about the spur-of-the-moment feel and the hint of making the most of a bad situation (like a roof cave-in). I don't know....I like this. I discovered it last year and sent it around for Christmas. Going around again this year!
i used to sing this in co-ed competition...this is best i've heard yet. good job gentlemen! (i had a hard time not choking when singing this - i just got so caught up in the meaning and harmonies). ;)
This is gorgeous, guys. I love this piece and I love your performance. I've sung it as part of a co-ed ensemble, but never heard it sung by a men's group. It's really lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Of course this is my favorite carol of all. We used to crowd into the halls of our college library and sing this. You guys did a great job. Nice place to sing it sounds like.
What a beautiful version of this carol. A friend posted it on her Facebook page and I was so glad to see it. This is not an easy song to sing because the notes are somewhat irregular but you all did a spectacular job. Would love to hear some more of your singing if you have any other videos. Thanks for posting, it's wonderful!
Hey, Cool, Chilly Shoe Dudes: Nice snow pile. Needs a fresh coat of new white. Try again late this December [2008]. Bet the pile is white high and pure right about now! [oh, and I still like the music too] 12/21/08
Thanks for posting, and as Advent is here and Christmas follows I wish all of you who celebrate same the best. Is being a person of faith still an oddball thing at an Ivy L. School?
I sang this in an all male choir of about 60 men in a large gothic cathedral with a huge pipe organ. I was a soprano then. I have always loved the bass part as in this arrangement! It still gives me shivers today to remember it. Thanks for posting this. WELL DONE!!!!
Wow. U guys are very good. I sang this when I was at Miramar High School in Florida, and u guys sound way better. I have to say, good job! That is one of my favorite songs. Might as well call u guys the next NSYNC. LOL! But really, u guys r very talented.
ALI, ME too! I sang second soprano in high school in our choir and this was one of our songs. I really miss being in a choir, and it was so nice to sing along with this doing my part of the harmony. :)
I love this holiday carol. The blending of voices here is beautiful. It brings back memories of wonderful Christmases past. I look forward to the Christmas season each year so that I can play this song in my church.
This is so great. The more we see the power of authentic singing with a heart of gratitude, the more we should be able to understand what a CURSE we are putting ourselves under when we feed the dollar-driven "christian" music industry and call it worship.
I honestly just joined youtube so I could comment on the wonderful version of this holiday classic. This is proof that there is still hope in this day and age. Right On to all the singers! This is truely GREAT!
Well done! I work at Penn, you always make us proud!

Several posters mentioned the snowpile, but it seems that no one noticed that it's a snow sculpture of a Nittany Lion, the Penn State mascot.

Really nice job. Last Christmas I heard this in an 800 year old church in Austria with snow falling. Hearing you sing this brings me back to that.

Beautiful song and all, but what is that pile of crap in the middle?
foxxieladie 3 years ago
That is a snow pile. The space we're singing in is a semi-open-air dome.

Very nice. Goose the 2nd tenor in the second half. Back off on baritone. You're still the best.

This is an excellent recording. Could have used maybe a smidgen more dynamics on the second verse, but it still sounds great. I love this song.
