I could listen to this man for hours. His collaborations with Kinski (wich are perhaps Kinski's milestone performances) alone are legendary, but his entire approach to filmaking is earth-shattering. This man would literally die for finishing a movie.
Cant fully agree with Herzog when he says that 'films dont change the world' ... They can inform cant they ? They can influence cant they ? They can be uplifting ?
I think you're looking at it in the wrong perspective. Look at is like this: You watch a brilliant movie. Your perspective on that movie inspire a desire for change. It is not the film that changes the world, but the perspective people share in regards to the film.
An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was caught on film in New Mexico. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything…I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.
My BLOG contains peripheral data regarding the movie and is where I reply to the "debunkers" (use search words "SAM ZURICK" & "BLOG"). THANKS!!
I'm doubtful that Herzog has never seen Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant. True, it's not a remake exactly, but there are some similarities that go deeper than just the name.
he´s the godfather for new filmakers out there, never talks shit, focused, fearless and incredibly warm hearted... a lot to learn from mister herzog folks...
@whythehell99 on the contrary, Bad Lietenant wasnt so bad. Also Nic has been amazing in some films....just seems to have lost his way a bit.....i think it's called being in debt.
Inspiring interview. Jian handles him perfectly, so you get a good insight into the filmmaker's style and purpose, without any guarded defensiveness. Revealing, and well worth seeing.
@13threturns I'd say he handled Jian perfectly..There were a couple momments where he completely wouldn't let Jian put words in his mouth..Sometimes Jian doesn't really listen in a "I'm too busy thinking of the next thiing I'M GONNA SAY way

wtf
what's with the painfully sophomoric metaphor, and the gauche recommendation at the end, like u are some erudite authority on herzog and blessing us with knowledge of his other stuff, playing a phony, crap jesus
ur awkward fascination is a bit off-putting
do u really need to broadcast to utube ur moist tween love for him?
he's great, for certain, but ur lauding is soooo weird: "beautifully sharp"? "glorious"?
u aspiring to be a one-line, made for movie jackets, movie critic??
I too thought it was a remake of the '92 film, and thought, why? Harvey Keitel was amazing, but now that I know it's different, I want to see the film.

Man, him playing the dad in Julien Donkey-Boy was just incredible. He`s so fucking intense. He was awesome in Mister Lonely aswell.

Do you think anyone could out-stare Herzog?
ExtremeBogom 1 year ago 4
I love Herzog but I don't think even he could make a movie with Nicolas Cage in it that's watchable.

a wonderful interview. not only is herzog evidently intellectual and eloquent, he is utterly passionate.

I would like to have Mr. Herzog make a film of my script. He is the center, indeed.
Story telling is central to the cinema, a fact which Mr. Herzog has never forgotten.

Achtung!
Der Werner Herzog is beautifully sharp as sharp as the steering or brakes of a Teutonic BMW or Porsche.
Maybe B.M.W. - Bayerische Motoren Werke because Herzog also hails from Bayern, Southern Germany.
May I recommend his glorious montanering movie Scream of Stone of 1991. Click on YouTube.
