However, when Cenk brought in strongly contradictory evidence he got fired up (for good reason!), but may have looked radical in his demeanor. Cenk gets a bit over dramatic but at least he has the integrity to tell us how he really feels about something and sometimes there really is only one correct position. Would you expect an anchor to give both sides (liberal vs. conservative) when it comes to civil rights or whether women should be allowed to vote. Halperin doesn't seem to get this.

There are many conservatives who are Libertarian leaning (me included) that don't support the drug war and don't give a damn if gays get married, I actually voted no on Prop 8 in California. The sad thing is most conservatives in the spotlight are neo-con fascists. I'm not trying to start an argument but don't think that all of us are evil or hateful. :)

With due respect Cenk, Barack Obama "supported" Single Payer as far as 2003. By 2008 in the primaries and on campaign mode, he was OPPOSED to Single Payer. Barack Obama only tepidly supported the Public Option in which case you are correct. The issue will come back after Democrats get their act together years later and try to (if there any common sense outside the absolute pro-Single Payer position) to institute a Medicare buy in for everyone under 65.

That was a little frustrating. Part of the problem of course is time constraints but Cenk really should've given the guest more of an opportunity to respond instead of constantly talking over him. Honestly though, considering the amount of money pharmaceutical and health insurance companies donated to Obama's campaign, we shouldn't be surprised that Obama didn't fight for a public option and that the bill came out the way it did. And the financial reform bill is no different.

With due respect Cenk, Barack Obama "supported" Single Payer as far as 2003. By 2008 in the primaries and on campaign mode, he was OPPOSED to Single Payer. Barack Obama only tepidly supported the Public Option in which case you are correct. The issue will come back after Democrats get their act together years later and try to (if there any common sense outside the absolute pro-Single Payer position) to institute a Medicare buy in for everyone under 65.

@nour1989 Obama's military budget is bigger than Bush's. He has also given more TRILLIONS of dollars to his friends on Wall St. than Bush. I am not defending Bush at all. Obama has already run up more debt than any other president in history. Even BEFORE his first term is up. Obama has taken Bush's corporatist policies, and put them into overdrive.
Also, unconstitutional wars, AND entitlements are running up the debts. If you can see the corruption in the (R)'s, but not the (D)'s.

That was a little frustrating. Part of the problem of course is time constraints but Cenk really should've given the guest more of an opportunity to respond instead of constantly talking over him. I get really sick of that really quick. I know Cenk feels strongly about this issue but common courtesy should win out. That's journalism, that's professionalism.

While I tend to agree with Cenk on this, Halpern is correct in that the far-right "crazies" do a much better job toeing the line in support of their candidate. Which is politically helpful to republican presidents.
Honestly though, considering the amount of money pharmaceutical and health insurance companies donated to Obama's campaign, we shouldn't be surprised that Obama didn't fight for a public option and that the bill came out the way it did. And the financial reform bill is no different.

Great commentary Cenk it was honest, intelligent and refreshing to FINALLY hear some cold hard facts on national TV and you didn't even need a chalk board. Obama has unfortunately fallen short of our expectations to the delight of the republicans. He had an unfortunate situation to deal with but we all had his back now he only has 43%. I read Maureen Dowd's column the other day. It was VERY supportive of the White House, which was actually surprising to me. It was the first time that NY Times had been so transparent in its support of the establishment. There's no way the Times can be labeled as ANY part of the "liberal" media, at least to me. I know this is a great opportunity for Cenk to be on a well known program like MSNBC but this is getting annoying. He's been filling in a lot lately which I do not mind from time to time but I did subscribe for the TYT not clips from the MSNBC. Plus Cenk is the face of TYT. Without him it's not nice.
