  • It's so difficult to handle the Yellow Bird even in a video game...

    Terrible driving!

  • 6:27 Insane! That's a very difficult corner on the ring taken at about 70-80mph, he is doing that sideways!

  • Most men would only dream of driving like that a Yellowbird and hope to come out of that experience alive.

  • To drive on that track, with a rear wheel drive car that quick is insane. To drive a car with the majority of the weight hanging off the rear axle, thats suicide. My god now thats driving!

  • it's like the car is just another extension of his body.

  • this guy's insane, i never seen anyone drive like that hahaah.

  • that's one experienced driver hah.

  • My hero. :')

  • I think the Germans invented drifting with their 911´s

  • AMAZING HANDLING ABILITIES!

  • i dont know who the driver is,but hes got skills drivin a powerful RR car on the Nordschleife without killin himself and the car..GOOD SHIT: )

  • @Teqnik777 My father once said that 'i don't know' is not an acceptable answer.

At the time I didn't know.

Then i learnt that saying 'I have no knowledge of these matters" is a better way of saying nothing

  • ONCOMING!

  • The driver is CHUCK NORRIS

  • It's Walter Rohrl ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • @fredg1974 its not mate, its sideways stefan

  • lousy driver

  • he must have a large "you-know-what"

  • Loose Is Fast

  • There are two simple rules for you fellas out there that think driving fast is cool.

I mean right on the limit or your ability and your car's ability.

The first is be prepared to die for your efforts.

For every Idiot out there that thinks they won't die doing this, there are ten in the ground that have actually attempted it.

You will probably get away with this once, maybe heaps of times, but you will fuck it up eventually and kill someone.

So, who do you want do die?

    You or a stranger?

  • At some stage in the proceedings someone must find the time to mow the grass beside this track.

Wouldn't it be a daunting task riding a 15hp mower with this shit careering past.

And you know it wouldn't be long before the fella on the mower gets the taste for speed.

Before long he will be drifting that grass mowing contraption where it should't be drifting.

  • This video cuts just when something bad has the potential to happen.

I know I've only done this track on GT5 , but trust me cornering at full nah nah's has it's risks.

Unlike GT5 however, where you can burn rubber without consequence, this ace has been scrubbing down his tires for the entire lap, making the shit that may be about to happen all the more likely.

  • what I find of somewhat interesting however, on reflection, are the following numbers.

If you require help please phone 911.

If you require a fast car please buy a 911.

If you want to fuck the world up in a big way permanently, please do it on 911.

  • I understand why the 911 has such a legendary status. What i don't understand is how did they pack all that grunt into the space that's the equivalent of a small suitcase?

Look at its ass folks, thats where the motor is.

Porsche is the only car maker ever to stick with this format.

Skoda did a "motor at the back" job in the seventies, but they didn't bother about making it look good and they certainly weren't concerned about the horsepower.

How do I know? Because it was ugly and gutless!

  • @3nasacova

Tatra (aircooled V8) put the motor in the back from the 30's to the 90's.They were indeed ahead of time in the 30's, so much so that is argued they played a huge influence in the design for the Volkswagen Beetle.

Most manafactured car in the world, VW Type 1 (Beetle) had the engine in the rear. As did NSU, Fiat 500, Chevrolet Corvair (a dangerous and bad car).

Oh, so the rear engined Skoda was gutless? They did rather well in rallies in the 70's and early 80's.

    You know nothing

  • @McLarenMercedes I'd bet the VW Beetle and the Fiat 500 would pull some mean lap times on the Nurburgring.

The reason for my comment is that it is a bad idea putting the engine at the back of a sports cars, as Chevrolet found with the Corvair. The rest don't count because they weren't powerful enough to cause problems.

You can see the problem with this configuration in the video. Arse happy would be a good way of putting it.

Oh and the Skoda i referring to was my old neighbors rust bucket.

  • @McLarenMercedes Hitler ordered the Beetle be built, and he fixed it's face.(Ferdinand Porsche designed the original Beetle, but with an ugly front end. (The front of the Beetle we know today Hitler himself designed)

So while we're fucking around with facts lets mention a couple that people need may find interesting.

Tell me I'm incorrect about this MR McLaren.

  • @3nasacova

Porsche actually DID try to retire the rear engined 911 in the 70's and started making front engined cars, like the 928 and the underrated 944. Those were a bit too "civilized" for the traditional Porsche buyer. Anyway the front engined 928 with its smooth and powerful V8 was a grand tourer which won several awards and loyal buyers.

Again you know nothing. "Ugly and gutless". I've read old magazines from the 80's in which some testers loved the pushrod engine in the Skoda Rapide.

  • @3nasacova jesus fucking christ shut the fuck up will ya? im watching throogh like 5 pages of commentaryes and all i see is you bashing the driver and his techniques.. just shut up.. or Go and drive a "yellow bird" on the nurbungring faster of sharper than this guy. It a fucking RR porsche 911 CTR. its how it handles!!

  • helicopters were invented to film cool cars driving fast from above

  • This isn't the nurburgring

  • @pezz94 of course not. its the RC track in my garden.

  • @pezz94 Why, did it not seem the same as it is in your video game? You're wrong btw.

  • @pezz94 yes it is

  • After having seen Walter Röhrl driving a Porsche on Nürburgring somebody still believes, that a crappy GTR or Viper can be faster than a Carrera GT driven by HIM... :D Nürburgring times are so fake....

  • @Banderius79 ha never seen that one before, thx for the reference

  • its a RUF ctr, which means RUF put in a modified version of a 911, lighter door panels, stiffer frames with roll cage, better suspension, and a twin turbo version of the usually naturally aspirated 3.6 litre flat six in the old porsches

  • @poo123head oh and as my first time doing one of those type of posts, 11 people shit their pants watching this video.

  • Don't suppose there was much point in wearing a helmet. I have never seen a 911 driven like that.

  • If Top Gear loses the current Stig they should hire this guy.

And it being the yellow bird does not help *nuts self*

  • And they should have fired whomever organized the editing, The coolest parts are ruined my the view maaan.

  • Damn thing is a death trap, great driving btw.

  • he is called Stefan, he must have some eggs to make this without helmet and nno other protection. great hands for him

  • That turn on 5:20 is like OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! This car must really tearing up the asphalt from the road. Respect to the driver

  • amoc

  • Driver : Walter Rhorl!

  • now if you think this is good, watch mine!

  • Wow, serious skills

  • oh my goodness this guy is driving a yellowbird at the limit the entire time around the burg just wow!

  • this is ruf test driver

  • Stefan Roser, hired to drive these laps.

  • @erickonphoenix Looks like Walter Röhrl though. If you look at the driving style, its worthy of a rally drivers..

  • @RacingFreak85 Yeah, it's a rally style driver but I own the RUF corporate DVD Fascination and the driving credit is Stefan Roser. Beautiful driving though, great video!

  • drive with your heart

  • you're right!! :)

  • ywah lol at the HI-Fi -.-

anyways.. the driver is fuckin' nuts .. seems this ruf isn't easy to head in the corners eh?

  • takes alot of skill and alot of balls to drave like this

  • I always drive like this in GT4, to where the tires are always squelling.

  • the man is a nutcase, as far as i can see... he isn't even wearing a helmet... legend.

  • Not mandatory on the Nurburgring during track days

  • no equipment at all looks like, t-shirt and balls....im blown away at how calm he is

  • Lol @ "HI-FI"

  • Nutter!

  • God drives among us! :o)))

  • I am sitting at my desk and I am scared.

LOL @ 4.32. Typical (old) Porsche!

  • does some 1 now what his laptime was?

  • I hope this man made plenty of babies.

  • BESST

  • driver-Stefan Roser

  • anybody know the name off the driver??

  • Looks like a handful!

I have a friend who has a 930 and he says it can be terrifying. This RUF leaves a stock 930 in the dust.

  • amazing car and amazing driver...completely in casual and no gloves...thats how you do it..

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the mostg amazing videos ever!!

  • Can anyone tell me what's the song on the end of the video? There is a larger part of the video on google-videos were you can hear almost all the song. Thank you in advance :)

  • Holy Shit! That driving takes some serious skills and some balls. That turbo = death. Amazing.

  • can someone please explain the differences between a ruf and porsche?

  • RUF is a company who takes a Porsche as base and changes 60% of all parts. So it's actually not a Porsche anymore

  • i think you have no idea how well he drives..

its an old porsche, you really hear, when the turbo is activated, try to drive a porsche in a corner, when the turbo activates..

  • One of the most awesome cars of the era.

  • Famous car.

x1000 better than the actual Ruf TurboR

  • Beaut'

  • wow.

  • class.

  • great car if want to take part in a drift show..in a track you have no chance with so much steering wheel changes..i think is the famous yellow bird by ruf is it true;;;

  • yes its a yellowbird but the car is from 80's

it was the fastest car in world that time

ruf used narrow body from ordinary 911 which was more aerodynamic than wider 911turbo body

it had 450hp top speed in excess of 330kph

  • this must be röhrl!! who else?!!

  • stefan roser

  • RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!Breathtaking perfomance and splendid design!

  • You are actually losing much time with such drifting...nice to see but not nice to see the stopwatch after :D

  • who made you the expert ?

  • Just a school for experts...

  • No in-car on the carousel!?

  • What I find great is that the interior shots show a bit of oversteer but the exterior shots show a full on drift with some serious tyre smoke.

Great driver in a great car.

  • wow that car is fast

  • WOOD !!!

    I HAVE WOOD !!!

  • i hate this video. everytime i watch it i have to change my underwear.

  • @sbusterhyman so true

  • jesus christ this man can drive.

    opposite lockin like a trooper.

and of course the only car to do it in

  • Stefan Roser,ABSOLUTE ANIMAL.I`d like to see him against Walter Rohl.

  • Could be interesting, but I like this Roser better for his superaggressive driving style. Rohrl was more a tidy line driver than a spectacle in my humble opinion. Nevertheless both are worth my utmost R E S P E C T.

  • that is some seriously manly driving right there

  • Okay So I dont go and compare IRL with a silly Ps2 game.. The game only gives you a tiny ideea aboput how the car is.. You can practise and practise in Gt4, but you would still crash on Nürburgring.. believe me, tried both a tuned 911 and a lap at Nürburgring (not in 911, it was a Golf MkII GTI) There are some similiraties, but not enough to make you a Pro IRL, with a Ps2/G25.. But it sure is nasty to drive, you feel the weight pushing from behind. I actually liked it instantly, some doesnt.

  • This car in GT4 is very difficult to drive with all the top upgrades. It took me some few tuning and practice until I got used to its unique handling characteristic and power.

  • just buy yourself racing super soft tires, set understeer, oversteer, traction control to 0 and voila.

    Drives like a baby.

  • balls of steel.

unbelievable, i think i need one.

  • you cant drive a ctr2 better than that ppl, he pushed it hard and i wouldnt dare with R/R car on the ring

  • @Soulvex It was a CTR 1 Yellowbird. The CTR 2 came out in the 1990's. Close though.

  • love it!

  • i loved every second of it...

  • wow he didn't wear a helmet

  • pure love for the yellowbird.

I was 10 when i heard of it - and I still want one. :)

  • Impressive full stop!

  • what time is the full stop at?

  • full stop as in -->>> .

  • this guy is so not gay

  • Wow man, real nice video

  • the drivers name ist Stefan Roser. from stuttgart germany!!!

  • Brilliant video

  • How big is this car inside?...because I doubt it has enough room for his gigantic testicles.

  • holy shit!

    O_O

  • I belive The Fahrer in yhis vid is Patric Simon from the EDO comp. racing team , Just my opinion .. LOL.

  • he´s driving without a helmet, this guy has big balls!

  • RednightTricky--> Having fantasies about an RR Ruf´/PORSCHE competing in D1 >:o)

  • Uhh, Hankook Tires and JIC Magic Drift team have a Porsche 993 GT2 competing in D1 since late 2007, so BURRRRNNNNNN!!!!

  • just checked it out...It's pretty cool looking..Certaintly NOT the normal drift-car

  • this guy is fucking sick, i dont honestly think i could keep up with even on GT4, balls of steel

    man!!

  • you really cant corner correctly w/ RR cars they under steer way to much so thats why he drifts around everything witch is probably faster any ways

  • Well, it is possible, just much more difficult. You need to shift the weight to the front tires, usually done by trail braking.

  • Right, you see F1 cars drifting all the time lol

  • I love this track on Forza 2.

  • 6:26 is great

  • Hmm, i wonder how well he can do if he competes in D1... with a Porsche or Ruf.

  • .... D1 grand prix is kinda of show.

you should know diffrences between "show drift" and "drift on track"

He won't be doing well if he compets in D1 however he should be faster on the track

  • there is another ver. of this vid up here on UTube and someone stated the driver is NOT Stefan, but some guy by the name of "John Kucab"...can someone please CONFIRM beyond a shadow of a doubt who the driver actually is please! Thx-

  • That is absolutely Stefan. Watch the video below to see him driving an '07 RUF, then you'll know for sure :)

    watch?v=wXDZDcjgZAE&search=ruf

  • you fuking ideot

  • OMG, Some1 going in 2 audenauer forst and Schwedenkreuz that way has GOT BALLS, Fantastic vid.

  • he was pushing it

  • That guy has got a big pair of balls!!!

  • This guy DRIVE´S!!!

  • Beautiful........Yellow Bird all the way...!!!!

THANKS FOR THE "VID" Lake Havasu,az.

  • Awesome opposite lock, particularly the hairpin about 3 minutes in!

  • Some curves he did like he was on a drift race! WOW

  • if anyone interested in my video,i'll stick it on,,,and you will see just how real it is at these speeds..and he is as good as he looks..

  • the guy who is driving this is called stefan roser, and is the test driver for ruf as he is a friend alois ruf,he works as a journalist for auto motor und sport in germany.I won a competion in 1996 with perfomance car magazine to drive over from england to the nurburgh in yellowbird and go round the ring init.I have my own video going round the ring with stefan, including him coming off the track and onto the grass at over 130

  • no mazec

  • A normal person would crash in the first turn :-) R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

  • damn, i bet those tires were toasty as hell after that run through there =)

  • RUF's are one of the most kickass cars ever

  • It´s said to be the most dangerous track in the world and with very high accident rate.

  • nurburgring nordschleife, one of the toughest tracks in the world.

  • What a car!! What a driver!!! I'm really, really, really astonished by this!

  • Hmm, seems links aren't allowed...

Road&Track revisited the Ruf CTR for their 9/2005 standing mile comparison test... it wasn't the fastest, but even after 18 years it still held its own against some very, very awesome competition (including several race cars). Check it out at their homepage, just search for Ruf CTR.

  • See kids, that's what *real* drifting looks like. ;p

One of the most awesome monster cars ever... does anyone know if there's a better-quality version of this movie somewhere?

  • CTR yellow bird... lush

  • It is Stefan Roser, the RUF test driver of the late 80's.He knew these cars very well. Most ordinary drivers would be nowhere near his laptimes and if they tried they might loose their lives. The Nurburgring is very unforgiving and rewards a skillful driver.

  • This car is constantly trying to "bite" the driver with its rear engine layout... that guy has got bags of skill and a real massive pair of Balls!

  • Beautiful driving. Beautiful car.

  • Road and Track, the american car-mag tested the quickest supercars in the year 1988.The Ferrari F40 was clocked at 201mph or thereabouts but the Ruf CTR YellowBird did a measured 211mph,which is very fast today, let alone in 1988.The CTR was based on the Carrera body not the widened Turbo-version.

  • sorry guys you're all wrong, it was infact me!!

  • i'm Spartacus!

  • I have seen the full 13 minute video that also plays on Speed Vision and Speed Channel and this is niether of them this is John Kucab

  • It's definitely Stefan Roser as this is indeed the Faszination promotional video for RUF. Check out the feature on the CTR (and the new RUF Rt 12) in the November 2006 (Issue 097) of Evo Magazine.

  • All the very good drivers i know (they go almost as fast as he does; no joke)told me the driver is Walther Rhörl, the porsche rally pilot. Could be roser though, both could drive before walking =)

  • If it's Rohrl, that would explain why he's driving it as if it were a rally car. :)

  • I believe the man at the wheel is none other than the late, great Stefan Beloff. It is reputed that after this lap he does the car is stripped of all the camera kit and a journalist is offered a ride. the journalist accpets and no more than 2 minutes into the lap the right rear tire explodes at well over 150mph, leaving the journalist rather shaken up and Beloff with no more than a furrow brow.

  • Driver is not Bellof as he died Sept. 1st 1985 and Yellowbird was introduced late '87. The driver is Stefan Roser who at the time was RUF's test driver. This is a clip from Faszinazion am Nurburgring (spelling might be wrong :)) - a promo video of RUF.

    Impressive driving regardless :)

  • The sceens of him 4 wheel driffing (ex mulle, etc) is absolutely magic!

  • This guy can DRIVE!

  • thats the way to drive a 911!!!
