Yeah, the middle schools are kind of different everywhere. In the town I grew up in the schools are all in units of fours, so it's: 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12. It got a little annoying, since when I was thirteen I had to be super careful not to let my mouth slip and say something "offensive" in front of the ten year olds.
