Objects with insufficient attraction would be ignored by sims. This new gameplay style did not allow as much player control in Simsville as exists in The Sims and contributed to its poor reception by those in attendance.
One significant difference between the gameplay of The Sims and Simsville was that where in The Sims a player would push sims by giving them commands to follow, in Simsville a player could only pull sims by the placement of objects with different degrees of attraction to the sims
Wiki: In March 2001, Maxis held a reception for the release of The Sims: House Party in San Francisco, California. During this reception, several of the Maxis developers demonstrated Simsville which was expected at that time to be released later that year. It received tepid response in comparison to the demonstration of House Party.
@OMGsImS Just because its too advanced? Simsville wouldve been WAY better than the sims 3, it could've been a huge hit. It looked way more fun with probabley careers were you can actualy go in the buildings and see them work , unlike the sims 3 ambitions were they only let you see them work in one neighborhood. The expansion packs would've been epic! And the characters were way more out of control and could actually kill people themselves... lol

God damn I wish they'd made that game.

I'd pay $60 just to play what they had finished at that point.

Look's great, but all hope lost for it due to Maxis and Ea will forget about it because it's kinda old,
They did the same with Sims Online, they pulled the plug and forgot about it.
