wait what? I was under the impression that the Han Chinese are the majority ethnicity in China. Are the police mostly Han Chinese or Uighur?
Could it be that the reason is police were caught off guard on the first riots and now are prepared? Killing Uighur's would only deepen the ethnic divide and could only make the life of the people (all ethnicities) there harder.

It was reported over 180 were killed, of which ca. 2/3 were Han Chinese. In that chity, over 70% of the population is Han Chinese. The numbers can tell us what happened. The Han Chinese who wanted to fight back made a stupid mistake. Using their way, they could only hurt the innocent Uighur people and make the situation worse.

BTW, the fat cop in the picture at 10 second is obvious a caucasian. It is very possible that He is a Uighur. There are many Uighur in the local police. But now the mojar force in that city is military police, which is more like an army. Most of the people in this troop must be Han Chinese.
