Fun vid. Thanks for all that all of you do; Wikipedia is much more than an encyclopedia, its true freedom of information-for everyone to learn. In 3rd world countries it must be legend, as the kids can often find an open internet connect vs. a book. I imagine the India version is Really busy :-)
A noble effort by people who are making a huge difference in the world. Unsung heros? Sure. But worth every minute you spend on there-although, if that stubborn SOB doesn't remove that flag!! ;-)
Steven Walling, that was excellent! I love the unofficial mascot next to the creator, and then followed by the robot overlords. Hilarious and informative. Good show, old bean.
Yes, I admit that I Enjoy building reference material in my free time. In fact, I also listen to educational Podcasts at work! Friends and family just don't understand. I love being different in that way. WikiNerds rule!
Sometimes, sure, it's hard to admit how wierd we are; but this does an excellent job of describing where we fall. I *seriously* love the line "Never turn your back on someone who writes general-interest educational material for fun []" because I feel that totally describes where Wikipedians are at as a culture. :)
(Disclosure: I am among that group of wierdest people on the Internet ;) )
@eddief32 - I think the ability to make fun of one's own "crowd" is a sign of a healthy and uncultish community. Particularly when the founder tweets the link - which is how I found this. Frankly I have mad respect for Wikipedia and Wikipedians. Keep up the good work.
So essentially labelling wikipedians as narrow minded, biased, and psychopathic, as well as giving the offensive comparison as a Wiki'pedo' is ok with you???
I don't know what planet you are on, but it isn't mine!
@eddief32 It's called humor. You know, the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement. The term derives from the humoral medicine of the ancient Greeks, which taught that the balance of fluids in the human body, known as humors (Latin: humor, "body fluid"), control human health and emotion. Look it up in Wikipedia sometime.
Steven, this was actually quite good! One day, you'll have the maturity and life experience to come to the realization that 35 people at the Wikimedia Foundation are exploiting you, and maybe you'll cry... but until then, it looks like you're having fun.
I'm going to make a vandalistic edit to Wikipedia today, in your honor!
Awesome. The Passion in Wiki Community. Full with fun and coworking. I really appreciate all. Thanks. @StevenWalling Well done.

Excellent presentation. One thing missing was the comment about it being released under open license... have you uploaded it to Commons yet?

GODDDD Steven, you need to calm the F downnnnn, and be a little less nervous.
J/k, I might be a little nervous too on the stage.

Is it horribly sad that I recognise most of the usernames commenting here? :p
Great video Steven. Nice points- I never thought of annoying and confusing people out of their minds with our acronyms.

My fave part was the bit about acronyms. I sometimes say "GRB 970508 passed FAC!" just to see how people will react.

Offensive to every wikipedian on earth! Inappropriate, and exceptionally nasty. This video should be removed.

@eddief32 - As an administrator on the English Wikipedia and multiple sister projects, I find it both scarily true and humorous.

@eddief32 - This video did none of that. You gotta laugh at yourselves sometimes.

How did I guess this 'marked as spam' comment would be from Kohs? Guys, spam is not 'comments I dislike'.
