Mitico ! Sono sempre stato convinto che non c'era tutto nelle versioni commerciali. Eppure in questo video è mancato qualcosa che sto cercando da anni: una scena con dirk in un corridoio che vede un ampolla dentro ad un muro con un teschio e con la scritta "drink me" (da non confondere con l'altra scena "drink me" del tavolo). Se la beveva moriva, altrimenti semplicemente se ne andava. Mi ricordo troppo bene perchè ci ho giocato varie volte alle sale giochi dell'epoca.

Il footage è incluso nel LaserDisc "Limited Edition 2002",ufficializzato dai "Don Bluth Studios" e da Digital Leisure,detentrice dei diritti di Copyrights (acquistati, ovviamente).Ad oggi è possibile giocare con questo disco tramite una romset denominata "Enhanced 2.1-PROTO" che consente di visualizzare tutte le scene senza però mostrare quelle "speculari".Piuttosto "diverso",invece,il prototipo visto al CGS1983,poi "bollato" dalla Cinematronics per via di molti fattori(prettamente MONETARI...).

All this footage (Minus the cyclops scene, it was never completed beyond the sketch-animation stage) was on the prototype laserdisc displayed at the Chicago Game Show in March of 1983, and as far as I recall there was only one disc with this footage ever pressed, officially. Digital Leisure should have/needs to release a Blu-Ray version with ALL the footage from the laserdisc including the slates and colorbar pattern on the end of the disc, and yes in 480p definition for the purists like me.

Looks like you had a lot more options in the original cut of the game. I wonder if Digital Leisure could restore some of these sequences and insert them into an "original mode" in a revision of the game.

ho letto che don bluth e gary goldman stanno cercando fondi per dragon's lair il film ..ma ora e' tutto fermo..speriamo che venga realizzato ^_^

in effetti però l'ultima scena è disegnata in modo completamente diverso, ha una grafica "adattata", personaggi che fanno gli stessi identici movimenti e poi nella parte finale dove Dirk muore e diventa scheletro, si vede chiaramente che c'è stato un video-montaggio... fatto anche molto male...

I had never seen the last segment of that before. Pretty interesting. However it seems that they scrapped that one pretty quickly because the quality wasn't there.

I never thought there were lost footage in "Dragon's Lair" including the underground caverns (where you CHOOSE a cave) and the Gargoyle Den.

Too bad a lot has been left out in the cutting room floor. I remember seeing on Starcade about something called the Dragonmaster Level.
