The NES version seems to be difficult for all the wrong reasons. It seems enemies like to stand right outside doors and hit you the moment you exit. I always take damage exiting the door at 3:10. This guy obviously has more skills than me.

I'd say the MSX version is superior, but I've only played both games for roughly 10 minutes or so.

Ah man! I have this game on the NES and the other day I tried to play it again and I still dont manage to get really far! This game has no mercy, but it is good because its part of the great MG/MGS story. I want to pass it so bad because of the story so I had to get an NES emulator on my wii that supports the game genie and now I am going to play it like a damn cheater! =P damn it why am I going to do this!?

The original Metal Gear game was made for the MSX in 1987. Then, Nintendo created a remake for the NES in 1989.

Hideo Kojima, the creator of the game, said publicly that he didn't like the NES version, and I MUST AGREE. :)

I strongly recommend that you watch a playthrough or "let's play" of Metal Gear on both the MSX and the NES. You will see MANY differences!

in every mgs game theres that scene where everyones automatically alerted so i dont know if that just doesn't count or what.

as far as the nes goes i'm pretty sure its downright impossible to not make any kills or raise alerts and besides - it's the nes - what you see is what you get. the only "bonus" you could get is just from beating the game.
