SENSE trains users to solve political and resource allocation problems in a fictional post-conflict country. Participants role-play government ministers, international diplomats and militaries. Participants use computers to access data from an econometric model, but Dechant emphasized that, "The real learning goes on in the human-to-human interaction using the results that come out of the simulation and the model. Facilitators direct scenarios and debrief participants on lessons learned.
