A liar’s loan, by definition not underwritten, means that nobody checks the loan brokers’ lies about the borrowers’ stated income. It's a massive con where the lender fails but the C.E.O. walks away from the toxic waste site a wealthy man..

To sweeten the deal, the loans were backed by taxpayer money. None of the government watchdogs did their job. Occupy camps are autonomous and collectively organised with no leaders, decisions are reached by concensus at the general assemblies.
