@michaeltai95 Yes, better musicians that can distinguish the difference between a piece and a movement, if you are going to get nit-picky, make sure you get it right.
This is my favorite song to play on flute (of the songs I've played so far)! I'm not good at it at all I would say, lol, but it's just loads of fun to play --heck all the Bach sonata's for flute are pretty fun.
Lol ppl clapped when they weren't supposed to :] haha I went to my first concert yesterday and I was wondering y Boone was clapping and so here I am all clapping to give them support thinking that everyone hated them and ppl were tellin me to shut up and i wouldn't listen cause I thought I was givin them support and then I realized that the song wasn't over... EPIC FAILURE!
@hankft there isn't even any g in about that time. and if it were, he would have played it right. it's such a pity you're only searching for the faults he might have done and don't even recognize the wonderful masterpiece which he played wonderfully
Too many accents for my liking ..makes it sound choppy unimaginative lacking in flow & lyricism .. but lovely tone bit of a pedestrian performance but I dare say I wouldn't have fared much better to tell the truth..still great though :-)
I think sometimes the heaviness of the tone can hinder the energy which is found naturally in Bach's rhythms. In other words, it has to bounce more and the way to do that is by not bogging the rhythms down with a heavy sound. Also, be careful of false accents. The presence of false accents is a sign that the flute is PLAYING the PLAYER meaning that the player becomes a slave to the flute's tendencies. You know within the first second if someone is an active or passive player.
Very good effort and refreshing to my ears! Nice to see people playing musically.
Unfortunately, the accompanist doesn't understand the piece at all. However, that is understandable because they have a lot on their plate and a flute sonata to them is not a priority.
You are definitely saying something with your music which is GREAT. Any mistake are absolutely NO problem in my book either (lord knows I make enough of them).
boy oh boy - what edition were you using? all those repeated notes in the piano - sooo unidiomatic - more Celine Dion than Bach! CPE that is for all you funsters who talk about "Bach"!
Wish Bach himself can have seen this. He probably never saw dark-skinned people in his entire life, and they were depicted as "wild" and primitive in school books.
This outstanding interpretation would have had him on his knees for the miracles of God Almighty.
he messed up the last half of the third piece.. there are better musicians.

Great performance!
By the way, is it just me or the pianist and the flutist are both skipping one of the first bars in the 3rd movement?

If you didn't know chukkachap, CPE is one of the Bach's too:)
Awesome playing btw.

Precisely my point about CPE!!! Don't understand your comment...Everyone goes on about Bach - jeez, there were hordes of 'em
chukkachap 2 years ago
Okey, I misunderstood. It's just a shame that you are flaming on this performance anyway. He played very well I think, and the edition is fine.

snappy it may be - bit it ain't Gaubert!

I really like your accentuated approach. Bach music can use a bit of drive and snappiness.

@sormu16 Well, the music is great due to the 10,000 hours of practice, so why not leave the allmighty out of it?
