i lived in malawi for many yrs of my childhood this video brought back lots of childhood feelings i still understand every word even tho i have not spoken it in yrs
Sweet remembrancer of the 'Warm Heart' what part of Malawi was this? Is it Central region, i bet it was..nice indeed. I do agree with one of the reactors?...see, gule is considered by church people 'dzachikuja' meaning 'for the unconverted/non christians' so to use the 'sound track' that is a gospel song kinda of contradictory...unless if you are just trying your hand at subliminal:)!...'Zikomo tanjoya nao'..thanks i've enjoyed it!
thank you for your reaction. I had to make a choice between keeping the video as traditional as possible (which would be appreciated by you and other people that know a lot about Africa) and making the video attractive to people who do not know anything about gule / africa. three minutes of drumming and traditional singing appeared to be quite a lot for some people.
When i find time, i will add the video without the music to youtube.
i dont like the background song, i feel its a contradiction with the gule. i wish you had let the traditiona songs be. Nyau is also a religious cult and the song is about a biblical character. i like your editing though
That's a cool dance, I watched one those in Malawi. I like the background song....reminds of the times I traveled in Malawian mini-buses. Cant wait to go back!
