  • wow nice motion tracking ha!

  • aha, that must of took WAY loads of motion tracking lol

  • Argh shadow at 0:42 irks me. The idea and execution was really nice though.

  • wow that was awesome!

  • wow, mind-blowing!

  • คนไทยเก่งมาก

  • this is adorable...

  • Anna, you are amazing. extremely talented and imaginative! I just watched this video again after a while and it's as wonderful as it was the first time i watched it. It was so awesome taking part in this project, I hope we do another one soon!

    Ahmad.

  • Soo cool!!!

  • NICE.

  • I'm so proud that Thai people can do great work ( :

  • Sure, you can see the regret in his face that he broke it, but what he hasn't realized yet is how many people are going do die in typhoons thanks to him. Jerk.

  • son increibles vancouver film shool

  • best video ever made!

  • Well done =)

  • This is just a beautiful piece! The whole concept is so unique and wonderful! I can't wait to attend!

  • สุดยอด คนไทย!!

  • The idea did not make much sense, perhaps thats why i found it rather curious. Not to say that i didnt like it. Nevertheless, I must say that it draws some intrest at first but certainly did not raise my eyebrows in the end, for good or for worst.

  • Well i learned something today, don't kick the moon..... that'l come in handy 1 day for sure

  • thts kind of a fail "KEWL I JUST GOT THE FREAKIN MOON... I'LL KICK IT!!!!"

  • well that was not nice xD

  • sick!!!!

  • คนไทยไม่แพ้ชาติใดในโลก^^

  • @Larkhahan Thai people do not lose any nation in the world.

  • Wolfman

  • right, i'll sew you for that!

  • NAME OF THE SONG PLEASE

  • Love it! Really good work with BlastCode I must say. The shards looks realistic, however I think it would have been cooler to skip the glow when it breaks, right now its like the glass itself emits light.

    Good work!

  • now if the moon disappears we will know whose fault it is...CANADIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS. (LOL just kidding.)

  • pretty imaginative video

  • Inspirador ^L^

  • that was great, one of the bests, 8^)

  • great job guys..continue the good work..

& dont listen to comments as "there is no light coming from it" & bullshits..

u can feel it that is art & its amazing..

  • Dood, what'd you do to the Moon?!

  • he play soccer with this one

  • This is my fav. Short films from vfs. I really like the piano in this video too lol.

  • simple but amazing

  • yes it is a mistake but do not forget they have to disappear the ballon...

  • man thats amazing

  • น้องเก่งมากจ้ะ...พี่ดีใจด้วยที่เมืองไทยจะมีคนไทยเก่งเพิ่มขึ้นมาอีกคน...นะจ้ะ.

  • 2 erikande85:

Of corse it is not:-) I meant in this case.

  • you break the moon you idiot! great work :D

  • Great job. But, the Moon is a strong source of light. And the grass surface along with the shadow of the person do not respond to it.

  • Truth good eye.

  • Though the grass interacts with the moon the shadow of his body does not.

  • @alni2 The moon is not a source of light at all. It only reflects the sun's source. There for the moon wouldn't have shined at all :)

  • that's some tidious work right there!

  • the moon isn't a source of light...the sun is. when it moves out of position, and cant reflect the suns light, it doesnt matter how close to the grass it is. theres no light coming from it

  • You also can't pull it from orbit with your bare hands and shatter it with your foot.

  • Dude, ur being way to scientific about this. one of the great things about film is that it makes impossible possible.

    you should appreciate that.

  • @alni2 the moon is not a source of light. the suns light reflects off of it. the video isn't scientifically accurate because the moon shouldn't be glowing any more than the ball he was actually kicking would. but don't get me wrong, i think the video was a really cool and unique idea! I wish i could do stuff like that

  • truly brilliant!

  • Incredible work Anna!

  • เริ่ดค่ะ

  • i take communication design. I REALLY LOVE thE WAY U EXPRESSES THE MESSAGE " really EFFECTIVE! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!!

  • how do you loop videos on youtube?

  • genius! truly admire this video.....i love the concept and also the behind the scenes work.cleverly done :)

  • hi anna, very nice congratulation !

can u share some thing about d music used plz!

  • .. i dont understand how that could be insulting. unless you are the moon or converse with it daily i don't see how you'd be "insulted"

  • awesome ^-^

    5\5

  • song?

  • awesome

  • โอย คนไทยยย อยากรู้จักจัง สนใจเรียนมหาลัยแวนคูเวอร์อะ

  • cool,

what with all the different renders of colour?

and how do you make the moon go behind the hand when he is holding it?

  • The different renders of colour is called " Color Correction " so pretty much I compared the raw footage --> the final result.

About how did I make the moon goes behind the hand is called " RotoShape " or some called "Masking". Hope that helps :)

  • freeak

  • we all want the music used in this video!

  • awesome!!!!!!

  • สุดยอดมากครับ

  • all your animations are awesome!!!!!!

  • I loved this! It's brilliant! I have to ask, what's the music you used for this? Is it available?

  • amazing...

  • AMIZZZZZZZING...!!!!

  • amazing!!!

  • may i ask what is the software you used for the editing process?

  • I used Premiere for Edting :)

    Anna~

  • You should make a tutorial for the glowing ball / moon :) I would like to use that same technique in some videos (:

  • Does final cut have the same effects?

    thanks btw

  • premiere? sint that a newb program? why not use after effects or shake? hardcore programs

  • Adobe Premiere is a cutter.

Adobe After Effects and Shake are both motion graphics software.

Editing and motion graphics animation are completely different things.

  • wrong, they both can be used for editing. shake is by no means motion graphics rofl.

  • Shake's a compositor, borderline film production almost like Nuke, and After Effects is a Motion Graphics software.

You can put video in them, but they aren't cutters. Especially when they don't compare in terms of editing to the likes of Avid Media Composer, Final Cut, or in this case Premiere.

  • correct.

  • premiere isn't a 'newb' program if you know how to use it effectively.

  • AMAZING :D

  • reach 4 the moon.

    Good message

    nice effects

  • che pero que bueno !! muy bueno. it is very good !

  • its really great. one single question: from which software is this software logo at the end of the clip: the one on the top right; the logo looks like a wheel. thanks for an answer (I wondered very often about which sw it is and it drives me crazy...)

  • That's the SOFTIMAGE|XSI (now Autodesk Softimage) logo.

  • woow nice :O

  • omg incredible really nice COMPLIMENTs

  • wow

  • Hermoso!

  • awsome

  • That was marvelously put together, great job.

  • hoorah for Vancity!

  • This is awesome!!

  • great work love it (is the music create by some VFS artist or some other)

  • Spectacular =o

  • THE DUDE SMAAAAASHED THE MOON!!! WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!! jk.

  • Really nice video. I love it!

  • exelent use of production skills and effect work.....how long did it take?

  • It took me 6 months to complete.

  • I love this video and the ending quote/message was excellent and tied the whole video together nicely.

  • too short. think that something missing

  • oh noez! you broke the mooooon! :) nice video. when i was little, i used to want to pull the moon out of the sky like that.

  • when you where little? I Still Want To! =D

  • Then we are 2 :)

  • impressive

  • wow, that was good.

  • VERY cool. Loved the behind the scenes thrown in at the end.

  • This is awesome, and it renders me speechless.

Although being an actuarial science student, I consider becoming a visual effect artist... and go to that school too.

  • absolutely beautiful idea, it took me a minute to pase and read the quote and realise that when he 'shot' for the moon, it creatd stars, perfect tie in with your quote and

i agree to a comment below, it would be an amazing adidas commercial for sure

  • no sé de cinematografía, pero me gusta lo que hicieron. ...

    ¿de quién es la rola?

  • Great idea.

  • Would make a very nice Adias advert, loved it.

  • moon have no shadow but they have worked good with moon light

  • great piece man...really nice job

  • girl :P

  • Blessed with a good actor. C'mon, he was good! He bought the scene so we bought the scene. CGI = nothing, without that human element to bridge all of us in.

  • whats the song?

  • He forgot to add the shadows made by the moon when he is holding the moon. Other than that, it's really good. I made a 3D animation myself, I am only 17 years old but I try my best. Its on my channel called HotHardware Contest Final.

  • wow that was very pro.

  • its easy to do with the right equipment

  • i mean its easy to put a moon in there with the right equipmentz

  • This is so amazing!

It's unbelievable how people are able to make such videos.

    But it's just amazing.

  • Thanks guys for the questions and all,

It's the Maya Plug in called " Blast Code "

I used it for shattering the Moon

  • whered you get the music for it?

  • Someone in another course or they made it themselves.

  • Someone in another course or they made it themselves.

  • whats the softwere between maya and xsi in 2:13

  • that was beautiful.

    Loved the music, great fx!

  • Althought I do find it ironic to kick the moon like a soccer ball, I suppose you must have a greater meaning for it.

    <3 the shattering moon,

  • the quote "shoot for the moon... etc." shooting... like you'd shoot for goal in a game of soccer? that's how i link it lol?

or are you talkin about somethin else

  • moon = goal, kicks around = moon shatters. a shatter goal.

there is just a loophole there thats all. maybe if the moon flew off into the sky maybe it would link perfectly.

but i am curious now if the shatter moon pieces is meant to be the "stars" in the quote? :)

and was the whole scene aspire from that 1 quote?

bcause if it was, u did a fantastic job at presenting it.

    <3 the shattering moon again.

its just things you dont see everyday. nor would any1 stop to ponder of its wonders.

  • Yea the shattered moon pieces are meant to be the stars, and it is related to the quote

  • To QuangsterProductions,

I am the one who came up with that idea. I can confirm that I didn't copy anyone. Sometimes ideas of people might came across but it doesn't mean that everyone have to COPY each other like what you said.

Anyway, you should know how to appreciate other people's works or at least give them respect. If you don't know how to do that, I think you should just be quite.

Anna, The creator of The Moon.

  • geez.... i gotta go to that school.... lool
