  • She's so cute

  • Did you know that she is Natalja from the red brick café?

  • I've had it with Starbucks, I'm home only thanks to coffeeloverstipsandtricks (.) com

  • wooooow she is amazingly cute!

  • seriously sub titles?

  • dont make how-to... when you actually dont know how to do it.

and she is even working @ a café

    follow these steps instead:

-fill your filter AND make sure the grounds are evenly spread before tamping

-hold the tamper with your index and thumb at the base to help keep it even and easely spread the grounds.

-tamp first with moderate pressure WHILE turning the tamper to even the grounds even more

-tamp a 2nd time with as much pressure you can / around 15kg make sure that the result is level

  • excellent....

  • Interesting video.

  • None ever pays attention to the value of good technique on teaching. You don't go mentioning too many factors when teaching the most important of basics for the first time. Good video, tho the practiced ever repeating greeting starts to ring in my ears.

  • you guys are so mean

  • good lord, people are supposed to learn from her?

  • My God, the way she's holding the tamper is soo wrong. I not sure if somebody could learn something usefull from this vid.

  • it really doesnt matter how you hold the tamper.. its how you use it.

  • Obviously an inexperienced barista, given the amateur techniques. She does not mention the importance of polishing/sealing the surface. You should never put pressure on the pouring spout - instead rest the body of the PF against the side of the workbench.

  • I haven't noticed much difference when polishing vs. not polishing

  • You can put pressure on it. However your absolutely right about the polishing.

  • *blush* I was using the little notches inside thebasket before i tamped it...duh, lol...i'm truly an espresso nOOb.

  • how do you know where the fill line is?

  • there should be a little ridge where the spring holds the filter basket in the portafilter/group handle. This is the nominal fill line.
